"Went in for my initial new patient visit and teeth cleaning and was very impressed. Dr. Costillo and her staff spent an extraordinary amount of time with me and each and everyone in the office was a personable,, caring, and knowledgeable professional. They have lots of high tech equipment and look to be a one stop place for my dental care. My dental issues, that need to be addressed, were thoroughly explained along with showing me as to how to best take advantage of my dental insurance coverage. For the first time in my 73 years I have an understanding of my dental insurance."

"Floss dental has policies that the patient has no control over. They say a blood pressure reading is mandatory and will refuse treatment if the patient does not comply. They also will refuse treatment if the patient does not agree to in mouth x-rays as well as a 360 degree full jaw scan that is mandatory every 5 years, as a "Floss policy". They said that to accept refusal of the scan that I would need a written excuse from my doctor. What? I have never heard of such nonsense. Their evaluation also said that I need 4 crowns on teeth that have not even bothered me, and one filling that was not even probed by the dentist and had no exterior evidence of a cavity. Beware! Rebuttal to your response. Unfortunately, your policies have no room to work with the patient. I can assure you that I take my blood pressure twice a day and that I am well aware of my blood pressure and am also under my doctors care. I was willing to provide you my blood pressure reading taken just before I arrived. Apparently that was not acceptable for your policy. Also regarding X-Ray's and radiation exposure, I totally disagree with you that you and your policy should have the right to decide and control what I expose my body to. At the very least, the 360 scan should be a patients "option". After radiation treatment for prostate cancer and discussions with my Oncologist, I have decided to keep any additional radiation at a minimum. I am sorry that you and your company policies feel that you must control the patient and force this service and refuse treatment to the patient for noncompliance. There should be some degree of compassion for the patients decision. It was your decision to purchase the technology, and I believe that forcing this technology on the patient is wrong. Very professional, kind (and patient because I have always have a lot of questions!) and very thorough.
