"Dr. Praveen is the best dentist that I have been to in my life. I started this journey with periodontal disease and he has repaired my gums so that my gums look and feel better. I have had root canals and fillings, etc. I was in pretty bad shape. He got me to where I can get braces And I just got my braces removed after a year and everything is so much better. The front desk staff throughout this whole year has been so kind and polite. Always making sure that my appointments were scheduled and confirmation calls and texts were always given to make sure that I stay on task with my regular visits. They are very prompt. They always got me in and out and the doctor was always very nice pleasant and professional. If there was anything that may involve in pain they were always asking if you’re OK and they listen and did what was necessary if you were not , they are very focused and I’m so happy to have gone on this journey with them. "Dental problems are undoubtedly frustrating, but having a trustworthy professional to turn to makes the experience bearable. Unfortunately, my recent visit to Desoto Family Dentistry with Dr. Varky shattered any trust and left me deeply traumatized and utterly disappointed. During the procedure I noticed he didn't communicate his steps as much as he did in the past. For example, while administering the anesthetic, Dr. Varky displayed a shocking disregard for my well-being. He neglected to specify which side of my mouth he was injecting, heightening my anxiety and discomfort. His indifference to my pain was appalling, and when I expressed my discomfort, he responded with aggression and hostility, accusing me of disruption and disrespect. Let it also be known that upon leaving Desoto Family Dentistry, at no time was I or did any representative at any point attempt to provide any type of pain medication, no fluid or water solution to properly cleanse my mouth regarding the areas where I experienced pain, he refused service and discontinued the procedure while he continued to verbally insult me in front of two of his employees. Since he wished to continue with this type of negative behavior I got up from the dental chair where I made my way to the bathroom to clean myself up. It was also during this time I couldn’t feel my face. To compound matters, Dr. Varky's behavior crossed professional boundaries when he declared me no longer a patient at Desoto Family Dentistry after I removed my gas mask. Needless to say, I removed the mask with his help to ask him what he was doing and to tell him that he was hurting me. I was trying to explain to him that I was hurting and when he proceeded to enter my mouth with the needle, he didn’t tell me that he was going to inject both sides of my gum lines to where I thought it was just going to be the right side only. Again, I had no idea as I attempted to explain to him because he didn’t say anything regarding what side he was going to inject at that time. But when he pricked the upper area within the front center of my gums without saying anything, that was when I needed to get up because I was overwhelmed with pain. I explained all this to him while he stood there in the presence of the representative who was assisting along with his front office manager only for him to rebut afterwards “THAT IT DIDN’T MATTER”, which at that point I was frustrated His use of derogatory and micro-aggressive terms was deeply hurtful and entirely unwarranted. It was evident that Dr. Varky lacked empathy and compassion for his patients' experiences. Furthermore, Dr. Varky's disregard for patient confidentiality was alarming. His open discussion of my procedure details in front of other staff members violated HIPAA regulations and further eroded my trust in his professionalism. Furthermore, the lack of professionalism amongst some of his staff members was foul most especially when I was catching glances and being stared at for a situation that could have been controlled had he just shown some compassion for the painful situation he was creating especially when that situation is garnered with being stuck with a needle filled with anesthetic while at the same time being under the influence of the dental gas followed by being pricked multiple times with dental pick which hurt because he didn’t tell me he was measuring me mouth only then to proceed to accuse me of a situation that I supposedly didn’t or wouldn’t let his employee complete that task as of October of 2023 which I didn’t recall because no mention of it was ever made to me during that time or any time when I had to schedule my treatment appointments with regards to any type of a measurement procedure. In conclusion, my experience with Dr. Varky at Desoto Family Dentistry was a disgrace. His disrespect and lack of regard for patient comfort and confidentiality are unacceptable. I implore others to seek dental care from professionals who prioritize patient well-being and dignity over personal ego and incompetence."

My appointments are always prompt and on time. Dr. Varkey is a great patient educator. Even though his practice stays busy, you never feel like your care is rushed. He makes sure to take time to thoroughly explain your care options so that you can make an informed decision on your treatment plan. Not to mention, the front desk staff is amazing.
