"Steak n Shake has been my go to for a sit down restaurant if I wanted in and out quickly. Now I show up and to my dismay, find out you have to place your own order on the screen, then they bring it to you. I much prefer having someone waiting on my table as to placing my order standing in front of a screen."

"Used to be great, but don't go by old reviews. They have replaced everything with order kiosks, and removed the waitress position. We didn't get our food for over 30 minutes, where it was always very fast before. Nothing sets this place apart anymore from the other fast food places. Do not choose as a dine in option, be careful going through the drive through if you're in a hurry."

"I hate this place now that there are no waitresses and I have to order the food myself, with pictures of waitresses on the wall from the good times, when everything was not digital and I didn't have to refill my drinks. The food was horrible and the burgers were thinner than ever and also burnt to a crisp."

"Okay, guys. They’ve finally ruined Steak ‘n Shake. I was devastated when I walked in today and learned that they got rid of their waitress position. When I lived in Knoxville, they turned shake and steak into a fast food place. My favorite waitress was forced to leave because she could no longer make as much money through tips and was too old to learn the new systems. She’d been there since I was in middle school. I’m now in my thirties. I was delighted to find out the one in Paris, TN was full service when we moved here a few months ago. I absolutely adore the staff, but a lot of them have (once again) been forced to leave. Workers deserve better than this. They deserve better than having their companies switch up their jobs and duties at the drop of a hat. Even if they’ve raised the pay at all for former waitresses, it will still come nowhere near what they were making with tips. Their customers deserve better than to walk into the restaurant and have their expectations of how their experience normally goes dashed. They have a “tip the crew” system in place, but that’s split between the whole crew and many don’t even qualify to share in that system based on their hours. I wish there was some way to protest or boycott places that act this way, but the customers and employees both understand that the corporation doesn’t care about any of our opinions or wants. In the face of developing AI and more automated systems, this shows that the corporations don’t care about ensuring that their employees feel safe and secure in their jobs. It’s incredibly depressing to feel like just a cog in a system. It’s insanely frustrating and I think we should all be speaking out against things like this."

"Why is black mold growing on the air vents? That is blowing mold into the air for customers and employees. Why is it not being treated or shut down by the health department?"
