"This place is great. It has been my go-to place for computer accessories for years. I first used them several years ago when I networked my house with CAT5 cable. I know I can get everything they sale on Amazon but, it is nice to go somewhere and grab the exact product and get help if needed. And, FYI, I am absolutely NOT a "computer nerd". I know little to nothing about computers and I knew very little about networking my house when I started. Since that initial purchase/project I have taken my laptop computer to get fixed. The tech told me that the hinged lid on the laptop was going to cost too much to fix and suggested that he permanently removed the monitor, add an auxillary monitor and keyboard and make it a desk top computer. We have been doing that for a few years. This week my 80 year old mother -in-law brought her laptop over and said the keyboard wasn't working properly; she could only type numbers when she was trying to put in her password. I tried adding an auxillary keyboard but the same issue happened. I took it to Altex and they called my two days later and said the password should be all numbers and that is why we couldn't get the letters to work. We eventually deduced what her password was and magically it opened and the entire keyboard worked. Then they refunded my $80 evaluation fee. They really didn't need to do that. I figured it was a stupidity tax but it was appreciated."

"Besides all the hardware, Altex has a really good computer repair desk. I had an old server used for back up storage that died but I suspected a failed power supply. Clayton tested it while I stood there, confirmed a bad power supply, grabbed a new one from Altex stock and had the unit fixed that day. Very happy with my experience and to get a few more years of cheap back up storage."
