"This was my original 5 star review: "Killer service got me in and out in 30 minutes at 5pm when it was packed. Ryan, Aaron, and the boiz are best in class." I wrote that as I was leaving the parking lot. I've come to Discount Tire for 15 years, as has my whole family. Here is what happened. On Tuesday, I got a flat in my rear passenger tire. I brought it to discount tire and had them change it because it was too bald to patch. I was pleasantly surprised about how quickly they got it done for how busy it was, thanked them, and left. On the way home, I noticed my brake pads resistance felt soft and like I needed to slam on the brakes for them to work. I have never had break problems before, so I was unfamiliar with what that meant. The next day, while I was driving, the check brake light came on. I asked ChatGPT what might be the issue, and it told me to check the brake fluid, which was low, so I put some new fluid in and the light turned off, and the brakes firmed up. The next day, I walked into my driveway and noticed the rear passenger tire was leaking something. I went over, and the brake was leaking fluid. I called Discount Tire. The manager there was immediately defensive, claiming there was no way it could have been their fault. He then told me I needed to take the car to his shop to have the brake looked at, where his shop proceeded to tell me it could not have been discount tires fault and that they have no liability. His reasoning for this was because there were no visible marks on the drum. Admittedly, I know very little about drum brakes, so I accepted what he told me. I checked ChatGPT when I got home and got this: "Not necessarily. It is possible for them to have caused a brake fluid leak without leaving obvious visible damage or marks on the brake components themselves. Here are some possibilities: If they kinked or cracked a brake line, it may only start leaking once the brakes are applied and pressure builds up, so there wouldn't be any obvious damage yet. If they introduced contaminants into the fluid or didn't bleed it properly, that could cause internal damage to seals that leads to leaks without visible damage. If they bumped the parking brake cables out of adjustment, that could overheat the brakes and cause a leak in an already worn caliper seal that looks intact. Even a small nick in a rubber brake hose could start leaking once flexed or pressedurized but not show clear signs of damage. So in summary - no, visible marks or damage on the brake components is not a definitive requirement for them to have caused a leak. The timing and circumstance points to something they did during service being the precipitating cause, even if the actual point of failure isn't clearly visible. Hopefully they'll work with you on a repair given the situation." Again, I'm not a mechanic, so maybe I'm wrong. What I do know is that as someone who has given thousands of dollars to Discount Tire, for them to not even acknowledge how the timeline strongly suggests that they at minimum, accelerated the damage, Its time for me to find a new tire shop. This is unfortunate given their great prices and location but I can't bring myself to do business with them again. You probably won't have a problem; just know that if you do, Discount does not have your back. UPDATE: They called me and gave me a free tire so I cant fault them they tried to make it right. Very coincidental terrible luck on my end I guess."

"The Discount Tire location on Old Katy Rd between the Sam Houston and Hwy 6 consistently provides good service. On my last visit the Sales Rep exceeded my expectations. Prices are reasonable (though all tires seem to be $$$$) and service good. Give them a try. If they don't have your tire, they can probably get it."

"Online shopping and scheduling was very simple. Arrived a little early (at opening) and got my new tires and a rotation in about 15 minutes. Very professional and impressed with the service. Highly recommend."

"They went above and beyond my expectations. I've been buying from Discount Tire for over 40 years. I have always had good experiences with them; however, this location went above and beyond what you would expect. I had a tire blow out the week between Christmas and New Years. I managed to get the the spare donut tire on and made it to work. I then set an appointment at this location because they were 5 minutes from my work. They had me in and out with a new tire in less than an hour. That I expected because they are always quick. When I made it home I knew I had left the jack, tire tool and jack crack thrown into the back of my Pilot. When I went outside to clean up the back of my car and put everything back where it is normally stored, I found everything stored in it's rightful place and everything that I had pulled out of storage in order to get to the jack and tools was also stored back in it's storage compartment in the back of my Pilot. Thanks guys for making a bad morning turn into a great customer service experience. You Rock!!"

"I have used Discount Tire in the past for tire pressure checks, tire patches, repairs and I've always been taken care of well. This particular location however, stands out with their top tier customer service. One time I needed a tire repaired but had limited time to spare because of a doctor's appointment to get to. The gentleman checking my tires told me it was unsafe to leave without repairing it now and was able to take care of it all within 20 minutes - and I was able to make my appointment on time. He understood my urgency and was kind enough to accommodate me. Because of the customer service I have always received here, it was only natural that I reached out to them when I was struck with the unfortunate event of having all 4 wheels of my car stolen. It was an exhausting day dealing with police, insurance, and my apartment complex, and I felt like I was getting nowhere. But every conversation I had with the guys here at Discount Tire felt more productive and solution oriented. Aaron was extremely helpful in selecting wheels and tires and answering all my questions over the phone to compare quality and price. My original plan was to have my car towed to discount tire, but my insurance was being difficult about covering the towing expense since there were no wheels and it would be a special type of tow. Aaron was kind enough to talk to management and get approval to bring the wheels to me and install it instead. Aaron and Pedro came to my location and installed the wheels, all within an hour. I know this is not a service they normally offer, but they went above and beyond for me during a time of need and I am forever grateful. Thank you Aaron and the rest of the team who answered the multiple calls I made that day and assisted in getting my car functional again. Discount Tire has been the place my family and I have gone to many times over the years, and this is another testament to why we stay loyal."
