"Given 5 stars for manager, food and second server. Meal was a disaster before I even sat down due to an abrupt server. Hostess was going to seat our party of 3 at a round table for 5 and a server (who ended up being our server) ran over and told us “you can’t sit there “. She was our server and I addressed it with her and mentioned she should soften her approach. Anyway, girls lunch went downhill from there. Other two women arrived. I ordered the salad and gumbo lunch special. My order here for 30 years. Other ladies ordered their favorite, the chopped salad with crispy chicken. Well, items were left off of both salads when ordering — tomatoes, onions. One salad was perfect. The other came back with tomatoes and 6 pieces of chicken. So it was returned to kitchen. Manager comes over and apologized. Offering free dessert. Salad was returned with no tomatoes or avocado, and only 4 pieces of chicken. Server comes over after I had to get up and get her attenuat cash register talking with a friend looking at their friend’s necklace. Told her there was a problem and she says “I’ll be over in a minute”, and goes back to chatting with friend and looking at her necklace. Server did come over and offered to bring out the avacado. My friend was not happy with this. Now manager comes over a second time, apologies given again. Anyway, manager comped our meal and assigned a new server to our table. Was a mess of a lunch. Spent majority of time speaking with server and manager. I am visiting from out of town and this is Pappa’s for goodness sake. Expectations are high for what they charge. Lunch a bomb. Good good food as always, mine was really good as always. But never like to engage with manager during a meal I look forward to."

"The menu has changed, but the food still tasted great. The grouper with lump crab, grilled shrimp, and spaghetti squash is tasty. The fried crawfish with dirty rice is a little spicy but tasty. The kids meals are good sizes for kids. Wish the kids still got 2 sides, 1 being mandatory fruit, like in the past. I'm sooooooo happy the bread pudding was available. It has not been available each time I've visited since 2020. Malik is a great waiter. He was on point with drink refills and everyone's order came out correctly. We didn't even have to ask or wait for bread. He automatically brought it as soon as we sat down. That has not happened in a long time!"

"I really enjoyed our visit to Pappadeaux. The food was tasty, and the Mississippi catfish and shrimp Étouffée was very tasty with that signature Cajun taste. The wife had the crispy salmon and shrimp. We always trade a bite. I was almost persuaded to swap, but mine was just too tasty. Our server continually checked on us, often asking to fill my glass when it was barely half empty. Wonderful attention."

"I chose this location because I had gone here over a year ago and totally enjoyed my experience. This visit was not the best. The server was attentive but not excellent. He didn't seem very hospitable. We ordered the crab dip(I always request well done); this was great. I had the seafood platter w/3minute fries and hard fried oysters(my requests). I enjoyed my platter also. Food came out nice temperature and timely. The grits that my daughter ordered were horrible. I've never seen super lumpy grits served. When we questioned the server and asked for the manager, she said this was the normal texture. Don't be fooled, grits should be smooth if they're fresh."
