Reviews
"Fun, entertaining sushi bar. The sushi plates are $3.25/plate. It's fun to watch the conveyor to see the offerings. It was busy when we went, so the conveyor had a lot of empty spaces.. That's the reason for 1 star deduction. The food was fresh and delicious. There is a touchscreen order system to get items more quickly than on the conveyor. With every 15 plates, a little pon ball drops for you. My daughter and I had 22 plates, plus 3 items extra : 2 dessert and a miso soup, which comes at a bit higher price .. We spent $98 before tip. I recommend downloading the app, and join the rewards program.. With one trip, I earned a $5 reward for next visit."
"Tried this place for 1st time. Loved the concept and the technology of in-app reservations and ordering. Customer service was good showing me how the service works. I ordered the fried scallops to try that type of ordering. I did not like them. First bite the (gills) ring around the scallop pulled and i opened it with my fingers. The scallops are small and not cleaned properly. I asked to have it removed from bill. Waitress said she would. It was still on my bill. So she goes back. Comes with a new bill. Only some of it was taken off. Call her back. She gives me a corrected bill. Then someone else has to come over to explain what they did. I probably won't be back."
"My goodness, talk about Kura. We first went on their opening weekend, then yesterday (Saturday). The first time was when they opened at 11:30, the second in the early evening. When they first opened, I noticed there were dirty spots in the area we sat in, which was concerning considering they had just opened. This past visit, I know they were dealing with the evening rush, but the cleanliness was still an issue. Regardless of how busy you are, you need to focus on cleaning the spaces in which people will be dining. No, excuses. The wait... This was VERY unorganized and while being there, several people were a bit upset and had no issues with voicing it. Those who were waiting, received texts as if their tables were ready, but they were doing that to tell us the wait would be longer. I assumed that ticked a few people off, I know it ticked us off. I understand the wait time could be extended, but until someone questions it, just let us assume that's what is happening. When we were finally ready to be seated, the host told us we would need to be at the bar, and if not, we'd have to wait all over again. Excuse me, how does that make sense? If the option was bar/table when adding our name to the reservation, then I could potentially make sense of that. After speaking to the manager or the person who was over the hosts, we were seated when the next table became available. To note, if you have visited the establishment before, you'll see there is no "bar". The "bar" area is a seating area for those who are waiting to be seated. Again, it made no sense. To address some of the comments about it being overpriced, I agree to a degree. You are paying $3.25 for a mini-roll and sashimi. You'd be paying more for what you're getting here, somewhere else. I do agree with the overpriced items, that are not on the three-dollar menu. For Tempura, two pieces, you're paying almost ten dollars. That also applies to a scoop-sized plate of fried rice, you can get more elsewhere for the same cost. You know what you're getting when you visit, if not, it may be best to look at their menu ahead of time. The quality of food, so far, I haven't had any issues with it. I'll admit, I do a little smell test, just to make sure. The customer service last night was fantastic, they brought in a young man from Florida to help with training. His presence and customer service, made the evening a bit more bearable when it came to calming the angry. I'm hoping to see some sort of improvement when I visit next; I like this little spot. Also, I will do a better job when picking a time to visit, it will NOT be in the evenings if possible (weekends)."
"It’s a fun time and a popular place. There was a long wait list by the time we left. It is confusing if you don’t know to check in outside before coming in. There’s a kiosk by the door. Use it to check in and then go in to check with the hostess. There are a lot of choices. Everything was good. The waitstaff were helpful. We tried a lot. There’s a fun cartoon that plays after so many plates. And you get a keychain after a number of plates. They have a robot to deliver some items that aren’t on the conveyor belt. We enjoyed the experience."
"It looks and feels like the other Kura locations I've been to. The menu is also the same. Therefore, you know what you're getting when you come to a Kura. If you've been to one, you know the drill: you can pick up items from the conveyor belt or order at your kiosk. They have a robot that brings you items as well (which is becoming more and more common at these types of restaurants). If you like to eat a variety of different sushi and other options, you can't go wrong with Kura."
