"Horrible experience at store. Ordered a 1500.00 tool online and had it delivered to the store. Prior to delivery, I saw the tool was in stock in the store and it was $150.00 cheaper due to a sale. I asked the store associate what I could do to either cancel my order and/or get a price adjustment. She rudely replied that unfortunately the online store and the local store are two different entities. They can't do anything to help with the variance in pricing. Then plainly said, "sorry, you should shop in the store prior to buying online". I don't have time to shop around. Last time I looked, the local store had the same company name on the building as what's advertised online. Terrible customer service. I've since slowed all my shopping at Northern Tool. I am very hesitant to give the store any of my money. Update: 02/07/24 I did hear from someone apologizing and notified me to call the store and speak with a specific person to be reimbursed for the monetary difference. But...I think there is a disconnect somewhere with the local store and headquarters. When I called and spoke with Chase, he did apologize, and I was told once again that there is no way for them to price match in that scenario because of specific mechanisms that prevented it. He explained that I should've been told that I could cancel the order and then purchase the order in store to get the sale price. He was very cordial and explained the process but again, I'm in the same boat as when I left the initial review; being told that it's not possible to price match Northern Tool's own pricing, etc. I did not press to obtain the $150 as the original date of the transaction was July of 2023 and he didn't freely offer to refund the difference. It's great that headquarters reads the reviews, but again, it seems as if the policies/procedures need to be better taught."
