"We rented a spot at Cowford Campground in the winter months and because it was cold weather we didn’t get to enjoy that much but was looking forward to really enjoying once weather warmed up. We did not get a chance to however due to the park manager booting us out to make way for TV workers. We should have been told that we were just being used to pay for the dead season but once the weather warmed up we had to leave to make room for TVA. You took our money and booted us out and then wanted to call security when someone questioned you about it. I would never camp at this site again unless they get rid of current manager."
"Good camp ground if you like fishing boating and nature. Even animals such as squirrels, rabbits, and at times groundhogs even Willow flies or mayflies As their called. No need to relocate anything."
"We love Cowford. This is our 4th year out here. It's calm and peaceful and being right here at the river is a plus. We love that there's woods all around and the wildlife is a welcome blessing. We love the little fat squirrels."
"So, the campground is fine. What isn't is the issues with squirrels. I had one chew through my heated water hose. Was told by management that several people have had their propane lines chewed through by squirrels. I understand if you won't kill them being on federal property, but why not at least trap and move them? We can't afford to replace $200 hoses every time a squirrel feels destructive. You've been warned ⚠️"
