"The indoor lap pool is not safe, IMO. It's full of urine from all of the kids. As a result, management pours toxic chemicals into the pool to keep it from being a sewer. The chemicals used are not healthy and management is not up to date on why. I feel like I'm going back in time to the 1990's when people had no clue about how unsafe harsh chemicals were. At times, you can't even see the bottom of the pool in the shallow end, because it's so full of cloudy, milky-colored chemicals. I've talked with quite a few swimmers who stopped for a while for health reasons. Last year, a bunch of them came to Fairhope as "tourists" and thereby passed it around to locals here who are far more vulnerable to its deleterious effects. I got Tourettes from that time. I've heard other men my age with similar Tourettes symptoms in downtown Fairhope. I've counted three of them. I think it happened from blood clots in the brain. This dire situation is just not okay. Those who are light with freckles are being purposefully removed for strategic reasons. Who will inherit our lands? Three guesses. Those who come here as "tourists" in the dead of winter. Last February, the "tourists" were noticeably unwell with visible tell tale signs that we are all familiar with by now. That was in early February. Who comes to Fairhope in the dead of winter as tourists from seven thousands miles away? Answer: those who were sent here with paid vacations to do what they do best and pass around that which they are immune from getting serious complications from. There were 10-12 of them that crowded into shops and congregated on the pier in Fairhope so people needed to walk close to them. I hope it doesn't happen again this year. Because I won't keep to myself if it does. I will go straight to the mayor as the "town crier.""

"This could use a good cleaning and touch-up but overall a great place. We bring my 3 year old quite often, and she just has so much fun."

"I’m glad I only did a month of this place for swim classes for child. Impolite staff (not all but a few that huff and eyeroll when asking questions about getting a membership should have been my first indicator). I’ve watched a parent have to jump in the pool after his small child when 2 lifeguards stood there talking not even noticing the kid in there before he took action. Then listened to the lifeguards talk in the locker room/restroom about how “she wasn’t even under that long. It was fine”. Then with no signage about outdoor pools being closed have someone getting after my kid being in the outside pool before class and during open pool hours. Nothing says it’s closed, I specifically looked before allowing. I’m watching (better than their lifeguards do who I have often noticed chatting) and I couldn’t even tell who he was yelling at as other people were walking in who looked around as if maybe to them parking on the grass. I yelled for her to come out as class was about to start and unsure who he was (in a hoodie) or was talking to. He’s then standing over her at the edge of the pool essentially yelling over me telling her to get out so she freezes staring at him and at me. I’m clearly the parent and he didn’t say a word to me. I told him “I’m watching and looked but see no signs saying closed. You could have talked to me it wouldn’t be a problem” to which he just throws his arms up and starts looking around for a sign and shrugged. Seems to me very poorly managed overall."

"If there were 10 stars I'd give them ! The staff is exceptional: it's always clean, they have an indoor almost-Olympic-Size pool & a great outdoor pool with little kid areas. Lifeguards are plentiful& equipment is in good shape. They offer water aerobics. There are dressing room showers & lockers. The HS swim team practices there so you have to be aware of the hours so you don't get disappointed. The upstairs track in the gym is free & open for walking & running, but the hand & pickle ball courts are for members only. Memberships are very reasonable for singles/couples/families, & with their security & ID system, the campus is safe."
