"I was referred to Dr. Goodwin at First Urology last month. I had a lot of blood in my urine, pain around my kidney area in the lower back. First of all, they only have male doctors and all female nurse practitioners. That wouldn't be a problem except for the rest of my story. The entire office was geared towards men and their ED problems. My appointment lasted all of 10 minutes and I never saw a doctor. They scheduled me for a scope of my bladder and CT of my kidneys. I made it abundantly clear that I was severely allergic to iodine but they told me not to worry about it. They gave me a Prednisone prep and said that would take care of it. I told them it wouldn't, I've had this test done before. They didn't listen. I coded on the table and spent time in the ER. I went back for the results and saw only the nurse practitioner for 5 minutes. They found a cyst on my right kidney but told me not to worry about it. I am already having a hard time trusting them. Never saw a doctor. I asked what about all the blood, my urine is red. They took a second sample but never got back to me. My general practitioner did not like those answers either. She did a non-invasive ultrasound. She wanted to start a baseline to keep track of the cyst and actually found I had a kidney stone. She said that explains the blood and pain. She wanted me to return to the urologist for treatment. I said I wanted a different doctors office. First Urology does not care about their female patients. I wonder why They didn't find the stone? They didn't help me and almost killed me. I'll tell everyone I can that if you're a woman, don't use first urology."
