"Great way to remember those lost on 9/11"
"Never expected to find this while visiting the area. Although remote, spending time here conjured up the sadness I remembered from 9.11.2001."
"As a Native NY’er , this is hallowed ground for me , Erie is privileged to have an artifact from the twin towers , Erie is a city that assisted us with a crew of firefighters in the aftermath . If you haven’t paid your respects , I recommend it . There is also a memorial there for Flight 93 that impacted in Shanksville PA instead of its Washington D.C target , when the passengers attempted to take back the aircraft from the hijackers , those passengers very well died national heroes in preserving Democracy for us today. Todd Beemer was the chief architect of the fight ,some of his last known words Where “ let’s Roll” as he lead the passengers to retake the plane . He and everyone who died on that plane prove 1 person can and does make a difference , when you stand for what is right . If you were not born during this time please study your history and learn about the men and women who sacrificed so much so that you could be here today . Our nation was gravely wounded that day . And everyday we continue to lose first responders to cancer and other 911 related exposures , so 911,was not a single event it’s loses are ongoing ."
"Lovely memorial area. I couldn't read all of the info due to ice on the ground and information panels."
"A must visit memorial! We learned a lot and you can listen to the last phone calls and see different artifacts from the victims. We want to go back to hear the chime tower that was being built while we were there. One chime for each victim with a different sound each."
