"Beautiful renovated old hardware warehouse with high ceilings. We lived in a 1 bedroom corner unit on the southeast side for a year and enjoyed loft living. Although the rent is a lot higher than average for Utica, it was 3 times cheaper than living in a similar loft in the NYC area where we moved from. Plenty of light on the southeast corner of the building with giant windows on 2 walls, wow does this help get through the winter months! Keep in mind that the other parts of the building have smaller windows, and only windows on 1 wall. Washer and Dryer in apartment was very cool in addition to controllable AC (you pay electric), which also can moderately heat the apartment if the included building heat (baseboard) is not up to par (it got chilly a few times, so we used it occasionally (pay for electric again). The not so good part is the road noise on Front street, especially with the trucks barreling down the road. Didn't hear much train noise although the train station is across from the north side of the building. We also had a problem with dirt falling from the ceiling which was never addressed. I imagine during construction that all of the debris and dust fell between the floor board which was then covered with new flooring, however any trapped dirt slowly fell below in the apartment below (that was us). (Oddly enough, we saw the same thing across the street at the Rathbun when checking out their lofts) Building management company was mediocre. This building appeared to be moderately transient, as a lot of people were constantly moving in and out. Nice size elevator in addition to ramps outside for easy moving and key fobs are needed to access the building and elevator. We kept our bikes inside of the apartment by the front door as there's no where else really to keep a bike stored. The hallways are also very large, and there's a nice size exercise and weight room in the basement level. Beer bar on the North side of the building, but noise from there was never a problem. You have to pay extra every month to park in the Doyle parking lot - overnight parking on the streets will get a ticket so you are kind of railroaded into paying the extra fee (per car) every month."

"Infested with flies all year round, appliances and lights break constantly, alarms go off for weeks and the maintenance ignores all work orders."
