IU Health Urgent Care - Greenwood

"Incredibly disappointing visit. I took my 3 month old daughter in on Saturday the 14th. After asking me for her birth date the receptionist told me they couldn't see her. When I asked why, she said that my daughter has to be 3 months old. I said she is. She just turned 3 months old on the 6th. The receptionist said "barely" and rolled her eyes. My daughter just started a new medication for blood pressure and her pediatrician requested we go to the urgent care to have a medical professional check if it slowed her heart rate. The receptionist scoffed acted like this was a ridiculous request. She told us someone would be with us. When the nurse "Lynn" came to get us, she rushed me back to the weight station and watched me struggle to carry our things in. She walked fast and so far ahead of us that I felt like I almost had to run to catch up to her or she was going to leave me behind. She got us in a room and asked why I needed my daughter's blood pressure taken. I told her that's not what we need. She said "I don't think we can take her heart rate. We don't have anything to accommodate a 3 month old." I asked her why does my child have to be 3 months old but you don't have anything to accommodate such a young child. She didn't have an answer. After several unsuccessful attempts to read her heart rate, she advised me I could have done this myself at home and went to get a doctor. A female doctor came in and tried to read her heart rate for 5 seconds and said it was going too fast for her to even read. She showed me products on Amazon off her own phone and advised me as well that I could have done it at home. I'm glad to know that the staff here thinks so highly of their patients that they believe we can just take care of ourselves at home. Next time, that's what I'll do. I will NEVER come here again and will be recommending that family/friends don't go to this location."

"I was in and out fairly quickly, however, I was less than impressed by the staff. I wasn't given any instructions for the pregnancy complications I was having even though I told them I was unable to get ahold of my OBGYN. No referral or follow up was even discussed. My complaint was not even listed on my visit summary. Very insensitive staff. Won't be returning."

"Took my son here for a high school sports physical. We didn't even reserve a time was just a walk in and was still in and out within an hour. Staff were all excellent and the Doctor provided great care. The cost was also so much more affordable than a lot of the other places we looked into before choosing IU Health. We will definitely be using this urgent care clinic from now on."

"Very disappointed with experience at IU Urgent Care in Greenwood. My 84 year old mother had a very bad cough. This facility was suppose to be open until6 pm on Sundays. It was raining when we got there at 5:30 but I get my Mom into a wheelchair and start towards the building. There is no automatic door opener so I struggle to get the wheelchair into the building. I no sooner get her in the door when a worker comes to me saying they are not taking anymore patients. When I asked if they weren’t open until 6, she said they are but she was told not to take anymore patients. The waiting room was not full of patients. There was only one person still in the waiting room. I had to get my Mom back out to the car with no visit. This location welcomes walk ins. I could have understood if the waiiing room was packed with patients but it was not. They need to advertise the time they are no longer going to see patients instead of the time they close. Very aggravating trying to get an older, ill patient in to a Drs- appt in the rain only to be told they are not taking anymore people before closing time."
