"I originally purchased an Ashley Furniture sofa set and it arrived damaged from delivery. The damage affected the function and I made several calls to the store to get it right. Amy, the manager, worked hard to make it right. It took a while due to distribution problems but our replacement set arrived today and it is perfect. Amy kept me in the loop on shipping and if/when there were any delays. Our two delivery men were very nice and personable during the delivery today, and we are most appreciative. Would absolutely return for business."

"We are current customers although I am not sure for how long. I am greatly disappointed in Hometown Rental. Our local store has went way downhill. Years ago we purchased (and completely paid off) a couch from them. So now that we needed a fridge and stove we decided to go through them instead of other local rental companies we could have gone through. We requested a brand new fridge and stove since we always pay off our items and in this day and age definitely don't want to bring used appliances into our home, especially since we always pay off our items. However 2 weeks in we find out that not only does our stove not work properly but it's a fire and safety hazard. One of the burner knobs won't shut all the way off and just spins to the point it shot out electric sparks at my husband! We called the store and they sent out a guy who said it's a manufacturer defect. Unfortunately all they could offer us was a loaner stove. We told them we didn't want a loaner nor a used appliance as we had agreed on a NEW stove and therefore shouldn't be made to take a used one. We planned on paying off a NEW stove. The manager said she couldn't help us and would have to talk to her boss but that boss was gone on vacation. This was 4 days ago and we are still stuck with our fire hazard of a stove that we are fearful to use. If a customer is paying the payment for a BRAND NEW appliance and something goes wrong with it then it should be replaced with a BRAND NEW appliance. NOT a loaner and NOT a "refurbished" appliance. That's not what was in our agreement nor what we signed on for. Had we have went out and bought this appliance brand new at a store and this would have been the issue we would have returned the appliance and it would have been swapped out with a new one. Especially considering this happened within the first 2 weeks of having it! This is such a risk to have in our home that what if it causes a fire in our home or seriously injured one of us in the household? Then Hometown Rental would be liable. I am so upset by how we have been treated and just left with this awful situation that I will be writing a review on every website. I recommend looking at Aaron's or Rent-a-Center if you have any rental needs because based on this awful experience Hometown Rental will not take care of you when needed. I called other rental stores and they were appalled at how we have been treated at Hometown Rental. They said if it had been through them it would have been replaced with another brand new appliance even if they had to order one and the situation would have been handled immediately. You won't be valued as a customer at Hometown Rental. We still not only have our fire hazard stove but we even made a payment for a defective stove for another week so essentially we had to pay for something we can't even use! I wonder what the fire department would say about such a thing. It's literally dangerous but Hometown Rental of course does not care. I will not only be sharing our experience on other websites and with other people but I will also be contacting corporate about this issue. It is simply ridiculous. ****UPDATE**** We never received a call from Hometown Rental until Monday July 6th, 3 1/2 days AFTER we had the issue with our stove and only after I had contacted corporate and wrote the review above. So today July 11, 2020 we went to our local store and told them to pick up our appliances. They were able to immediately come and get the appliances but yet we wait 3 1/2 days for a response on getting a new stove. After we waited so long we decided to just go out and buy a brand new fridge and stove elsewhere rather than mess with Hometown Rental. The guys that came to pick up appliances were not wearing masks either and claimed they didn't have any. During a pandemic that is unacceptable."
