"Pay people more so they have a better incentive to treat customers better. Also, the quality of produce and meat has significantly decreased. Having to clip & save coupons on an app isolates customers who aren’t tech savvy. Especially our senior population. The pico de gallo is NEVER (I’m serious) on the shelf when I visit. A few months back they unplugged the scanners from self-checkout, so if you purchased heavy items you had to lift them to scan. The self-checkout line is 20 items or less, which is counterproductive if only one lane is open or the only other open is 15 items or less. Anything under $20 an hour in an economy that requires you to make 3X your rent is a scam. Pay people more and we all can have better experiences. I’m sick of it. I’ll never blame the employees. Their attitudes are a reflection of how they are treated. Do better!"

"Three stars because I am very unhappy with the meat section. For the huge number of customers at this Jewel location (at 183rd & Kedzie in Homewood), the meat section is sooo small. More times than not I will NOT find ground turkey or hot Italian turkey sausage. Furthermore, it is almost impossible seeking out a butcher or manager, and each time I could, it's aways "sorry, come back tomorrow or next week". I then make my way 3 blocks away to Walts where not only is the meat section much larger and packed with what I need, the butcher is ALWAYS visible and will even ask me if I need help finding something! And complaining about my problem at Jewel's Customer Service desk is futille!"

"It’s on the pricey side, but it’s usually clean and well-stocked. I’m more likely to buy specialty items here than any other store. They also have a good assortment of natural beauty and hygiene products here."

"A neighborhood staple for many years. If you’re looking for food from the ‘hood’, this is the place. You can find greens, catfish, and many other foods that most big box stores won’t carry. Well organized and neat and tidy. Glad to see them hang in there during these different and difficult times. I’m sure the local folks appreciate it."
