"Today was my second time here. Today I actually went through triage and the ER. In triage, the nurse and phlebotomist didn't listen to me about my vein being partially collapsed and having scar tissue! They proceeded to poke and prod me until she went to another vein. A total of 6 sticks and having her dig around in my arm to find a vein I told her she couldn't use! Strike 1! I was in the waiting room and "transport" came to get me! I assumed we were going to the er or my room. Wrong, they took me for an xray (no one told me this would happen)! After they xrayed me they took me back to the waiting room. A few minutes later, they came and got me again, bringing me into the er and placing me in a chair behind where the nurses sit, next to the ambulance entrance! Here I sat like a mushroom. Someone came to get me and I assumed it was to bring me to my room. They proceeded to take me for a doppler (we aren't getting into this one). No one told me the doctor had ordered any tests! After my refusal, we came back and there I sat for 4.5 more hours. No one saying a word to me! Mind you I was 10 feet behind the nurses station! My nurse came over with IV antibiotics and a breathing treatment, told me the doctor was going to keep me! No one told me anything about the blood they drew, what the xray showed, what medications they were putting me on, nothing. After the antibiotics were done, the nurse didn't flush nor remove the line. I had to do it. After I used the bathroom I asked the nurse (now at 6.5 hours) when I would be brought into my room. She stated she was not on the clock and walked away. I proceeded to grab my belongings and started walking towards the exit. I was stopped by another nurse who asked if I was leaving. I told him yes, he went to remove my iv and stated "I'll have to let the pharmacy know not to fill your antibiotics "... so you people knew I was getting medications and didn't bother to tell me?! What the actual F?! I left crying I was so mad and upset. If you can't inform your patients, find a new job! I wouldn't come back if my limbs were falling off!"
"My procedure in the GI lab was scheduled for 7am, Feb. 2, 2024, and was texted to arrive at 6am. I completed online check-in. Their app showed that I was scheduled. I was not on the schedule and this could not be done until after 6:30m am. Prior approval was not done and the insurance did not open until 8am. We sat and waited 4 hours before I was called back. Did not leave the facility until 11:45 am. The clerk tells me that this a regular occurrence. Two other people had the same experience while I was waiting. Infirmary you must do better than this."
"I have been visiting Mobile Infirmary Hospital for two weeks now. I have a relationship with a current patient. I have noticed that nurse Patrica working on the fourth floor had an outstanding crew. She was helpful and provides a quality of care that is above and beyond the norm. Thank You Patrica. My significant other was moved to the third floor after 10 days. Nurse Stacey was attentive and provided care above and beyond the care of the norm. Way to goGirls"
"My mom has to go to this hospital because this is the hospital her gp has privileges. If that weren't the case she'd NEVER step one foot in this hospital. This is her 2nd hospitalization since October and both time have been ridiculous but this time has been worse she sat the ER for two days the whole time they're telling her they're "getting a bed ready". After getting in the room the real issues started. Rude nurses yelling and snatching on her arms because she wasn't sitting up fast enough. Not getting her meds when she needs them. Ignoring call buttons. Someone trying to get blood while she's still asleep and getting mad when she jerked because she was startled wake by a needle in her arm. Not following sterile protocol. Leaving her iv meds that have to be refrigerated out in the room for hours before trying to hook them up(she refused). And to top it all off her "case manager" does not answer call or return calls after leaving a message. All of these concerns have been brought to a few people's attention but so far no change. This stay is going on 4 weeks and in that time there has only been one nurse that cared and was helpful to my mom. Overall unprofessional, disrespectful, abusive, neglectful and rude. This should not happen, no one should be treated this way. Especially someone who is very sick and in need of help."
"My grandpa had a heart attack. The doctors and nurses are so amazing. They explained everything and not once got up set with all my questions. My grandpa is in such good hands. The staff saved his life with every thing they could in there power and taking care of other patients. They helped my family understand what could happen and they all are so amazing. Even if the outcome not so good. There still there fighting to save lives. Thank you from our family"
