"A homeless man lives in one of the pavilions right next to a playground. Today he exposed himself to me and my 13 year old daughter while we were in town visiting with family. This happened about 30 feet from the playground area that had families and even younger children on it. I called the police. They arrived almost an hour later. The cop said they couldn’t do anything because they didn’t personally witness it happen. They also said that the parks department would have to ask them to remove the guy. “Our hands are tied,” he said. Additionally, there is trash all over the park. Liquor bottles, scraps of clothes, used condoms… Oh, and just random, dirty looking addicts lurk around and come in and out of the woods. I used to live in Birmingham and I loved this park, but today was an awful experience and I don’t imagine I’ll ever go back. The city should be embarrassed they’ve let this happen to an otherwise beautiful place. My advice? AVOID THIS PARK, at least until the city decides to actually make it a safe place for families again."
"The City of Birmingham needs to put some love and care into this park. I play there and it could be so much better. I travel to other cities and our field doesn't compare."
"I love the disk golf area...even if I stink at it. There's an amazing artesian creek... Very cold crystal clear water. All around super place to relax."
