"Best stromboli's I have ever had from the 1980's until now. It's the end of an era. New owners are skimping on toppings. Mostly bread. It's a shame. I'm gonna miss those sandwiches."
"We were looking forward to trying the pizza but I was told they were out of pizza almost 2 hours before they closed. I am no pizza coniseuor but I guess dough made that day must taste better than dough made yesterday because they only seem to make enough for almost a whole day. Well, we opted for a burger and fries instead and were told 30 minutes. Ok no problem. Get there 40 minutes later to find out there are no fries because "he turned the fryer off without communicating". Wow. The burger tasted like a typical frozen patty but over seasoned. The pickles and onions on the sandwich were the end pieces of the vegetable all around disappointing. I gave this establishment another shot after a bad experience previously but this will be the last dollar I spend there."
"We had never visited Cook’s Pizza, but since we were in Wakarusa and had heard that it was the place to eat in town, we decided to check it out, so perhaps our expectations were high. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was served fairly quickly and was definitely fresh out of the oven (it was very hot). The pizza was ok but it wasn’t something that I would travel very far to get. If you are obsessed with cheese, than perhaps it would be more to your liking as it was piled on, but the sauce was good. Like many people have noticed, the seating is very limited and it is a tight squeeze to fit all of the tables into the small space. I almost gave a 3 star rating, but decided on 2 because they only accept cash or check, and as someone who is accustomed to paying mostly by card, I had to run over to the local bar to use the ATM and of course the fees that go with that transaction. If you live in Wakarusa, Cook’s Pizza is an ok place to grab a quick bite, but if you are traveling more than 7 miles I would recommend other pizza establishments."
