Bazbeaux Pizza (Carmel)

"Pizza was good. My problem was the fake acrylic nail I found in my pizza when I ordered take out. When I called about the fake nail I found in my colossus pizza, I was questioned if it was my own. For the record, it was not. I understand accidents happen, but when I called they were not understanding or empathetic and offered me a credit for the next time I wanted to eat there. In my opinion, they handled the situation very poorly and I’m extremely concerned how a fake acrylic nail got into my take out pizza order when they claim all men work in the kitchen. Be aware while eating here."

"Got some pickup a Monday night. It was slow for them and it's a "layup"for them to get it right in those conditions. But, even bad businesses can mess that up. It was fantastic. Nice people. Perfectly cooked. Evenly spread toppings. Whoever made the pizza cared. Their pizza is generally slightly more expensive, but it's worth it."

"We had a horrible experience last night. Granted, it was a Friday night, but the service was horrible and the kitchen was struggling to get pizzas out. We waited for over an hour for our pizzas, which is bad enough, but made worse by the fact that our server never came to check on us to ask about more drinks, explain that the kitchen was behind, apologize, nothing. We had to seek him out at the end and ask for all of our pizzas to just get boxed up instead of served & that's the only time he offered any explanation ("Fridays are always like this"). If that's the case, change your process, it's clearly not working! Adding to the frustration was seeing a ton of take out orders going out, but hardly anyone in the restaurant being served. In house guests were definitely not prioritized. A table next to us was so frustrated they cancelled their order & left. The pizza isn't good enough to make up for the horrible disorganization & service."

"Sitting at a window overlooking the Monon trail on a beautiful fall afternoon, we sampled the Mediterranean and Colossus pizzas from Bazbeaux. I was delighted at the thin crispy crust (because IMO, that makes or break the pizza) and the generous amount of toppings. The service staff was prompt and polite. We also tried the bomba dessert. While it was good ice cream, it wasn't what I expected. After being very impressed with the pizza, the dessert was underwhelming. For dessert, maybe go to one of the other ice cream locations on the same block, but there is no substitute for a beautifully prepared pizza"

"Came here on a busy and sunny Saturday evening. Was excited to try it because I’ve only ever seen this place busy. The line was out the door, but, to order take out, you could just walk past the line to the bar and order from there. I ordered the tchoupitoulas pizza and we walked around the area while we waited. After we picked up the pizza, we took it over to the Sun King patio to enjoy the sunny day. As far as the pizza goes, the 12” size was just right for 2 people. The flavors were great on the Cajun style pizza—a solid 4 out of 5. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the crust. It was thin, but unfortunately it lacked some of the salty, breadiness of the thin crusts I’ve had before. I’d recommend this place to eat on a nice sunny patio, there or nearby."
