"I would like to leave a review. I want to say that from the start when I walked in to island granite Kara was welcoming and knowledgeable about the product and help me pick the best product for my kitchen and bath .My favorite part was she did not push the most expensive one on me. She found the best price one. They were very prompt to come out to measure and get installed. The gentleman JP and Lawrence were great we had a little bit tougher of a tar out in the kitchen but the took care of it in the more professional and carefully way. They cleaned up all debris and brought anything that might be a concern to the homeowner to our attention and I appreciate that as this was a rental property. This company will always be the one I recommend and use ."

"I’ve waited to write this review until our job was complete. We didn’t have a good experience with Island Granite. The pros. Everyone was nice. They for the most part wanted to make things right and fixed many of our issues to our satisfaction. The cons. The entire process didn’t go smooth and was pretty stressful. When the installers came in to do the tear out of our existing granite they were overwhelmed and really struggled to remove our existing countertops. When you are watching someone hammer down on your countertops and watching pieces fall on the floor and seeing potential damage it’s stressful. They were visibly stressed themselves which caused further stress for us. At one point my husband took over removing a piece of granite because they were getting ready to tear up the trim around our mirror. If you use them, they didn’t put down tarps when they were tearing out so I advise you to put something down yourself. A huge piece of granite fell and hit our kitchen tile which has resulted in a chip and a crack. This tile is 17 years old so if the crack gets worse there isn’t anything we can do since it’s discontinued. I was told originally the job would be done in one day but then told they would have to come back because there were pieces they didn’t bring with them that still needed to be recut plus they would need to remeasure for the wall backsplash after the counters were installed to ensure it was measured correctly. Unfortunately they either still measured incorrectly or they were cut wrong because we had gaps that were very noticeable and were too large to fill with silicone. They offered to cut and install a trim piece around our wall backsplash which we were told is a very time consuming project on their part but they would do it to make it right. I had no idea what this would look like and in hindsight I wish I had asked them to take the backsplash down and have a new piece cut vs putting up the trim. My husband likes the trim (says it’s better than large gaps) but I don’t like it at all. Neither of us like controversy and try to be reasonable and easy going so we didn’t want to say anything and didn’t want to ask them to purchase a new slab and reinstall. The installation manager was meticulous to get the trim installed and worked hard on it I just regret doing it. All I see now is trim vs a beautiful quartz backsplash. It looks cheap to me. Also they didn’t install a few backsplash pieces correctly and didn’t have time to fix. In my opinion fix what you’ve done wrong at the time but that didn’t happen. When they finally came out to fix the backsplash it was so attached to the wall that it ripped our wall so they had to go back and recut new backsplash in a larger piece to mask the torn wall. I seriously can’t believe how many issues we had for a company that has been in business so long and for as much money as we paid. I feel like they sent inexperienced installers to our home. In their defense I realize getting wall backsplash perfect is almost impossible but I do expect better than what we received. My advice to you is make sure you are home when they tear out and install and look over their work. Also if you are using the quartz as wall backsplash ask what is an acceptable gap between the quartz and your cabinets, walls etc. Find out all of your options if they don’t cut it correctly and the gaps are too large to just simply fill with silicone. If you don’t like something make it be fixed. They do want to make you happy in the end. Lastly, communication wasn’t great. I was constantly reaching back out to follow up on when things would be finished. I hate writing negative reviews I just want to help others not make the same mistakes we made."
