"I personally was extremely disappointed with my experience today with Paul Mitchell. I went in for a silk press and when assigned a stylist I expressed my concerns to the stylist and instructor about how I didn’t feel comfortable and would like another stylist and they refused. The instructor even insisted that I put the stylist feelings before my own. I never felt so violated. While leaving I witnessed another stylist who was not busy and willing to do my hair when we both went to the front desk to request the change they informed us that I’m not able to make such a request. I understand that this is a learning environment but this also a service that I am paying for and I also was required to sign documents stating that the school or stylist is not responsible for any damages done to my hair so I feel I should have some say so in who the stylist for my hair will be. If this sounds like an experience you don’t wish to have while seeking beauty services I would not recommend Paul Mitchell in Huntsville AL."

"I went in for a wash, cut and blow out, my stylist was Olivia, she did a great job on my cut I’m very impressed! Her instructors were as well. The hair washing experience was top tier. Overall I’m very satisfied."

"IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING TO THIS SCHOOL DON’T!!!! It’s ran by a board that has NO care for the the students. There is no refrigerator for the students to put food in and no microwave to heat up food. So even if you did bring food you can’t eat it warm. On top of that staff expects you to have enough money for fast food. When you’re paying for EXPENSIVE tuition and day to day expenses, YOU WON’T HAVE MONEY FOR FOOD. The instructors are crazy besides a couple. They play favorites, allow bullying, and when their favorite gets bullied that’s when they speak up about it. Certain privileges are given to the students that the instructor likes, and some necessary accommodations aren’t given to the students the instructors don’t like. The director of the board is a DICTATOR. She makes all these rules then forces the instructors to communicate it so she doesn’t have to take the flack. She is the one that took the fridge, the microwaves, and she YELLS at the students when they SPEAK THEIR MINDS. Not only yelling at the students but throwing, slamming and breaking very expensive items. If you say anything that goes against what they ask you to do there are NO WARNINGS, they immediately get in your face and yell at you. You could be passing all of your assignments but the second you speak up they will throw you out AND YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY EVEN IF YOU GET TOSSED OUT. What happened to civil rights? I thought freedom of speech was a respected right? I guess Paul Mitchell doesn’t think so. How is this suppose to be a welcoming environment to learn when you are broke, on edge, harassed by your teachers and threatened to be kicked out every day. No wonder this place has SEVERAL LAWSUITS. Don’t go here it’s a waste of money, time, and happiness. You’ll be way more comfortable at a community college."

"DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. DO NOT GIVE THIS SCHOOL YOUR MONEY. This school is ran so messed up in the first place, (like no refrigerator for the students to store lunch in, or a microwave for them to heat up their food) the staff expects you to go buy lunch everyday because in their eyes all the students are made of money and their parents are paying for everything including tuition. The staff plays the favoritism games and allows blatant BULLYING to take place. Like girls making fun of others because they may not finish their assignments as fast as others, to the point where they become a distraction during tests and the teachers are sitting right there allowing it to take place. They say “if someone is bullying you then come tell us about it because if you retaliate then you will be punished and dropped from the school” but then do absolutely nothing to stop it. They act oblivious to it but every other person in the class is in awe of the blatant disrespect being allowed by the staff and whenever you stand up for yourself, you are the problem. Do not send your children to this school or even consider going there yourself unless you plan on constantly getting put down about your looks, the way you talk and the clothes you can afford to buy. This would make anyone quit and never want to pursue their dream of cosmetology again, let alone the depression that comes along with being bullied and made fun of DIRECTLY in front of your teacher and her do nothing."

"Hi! I’m a future professional (that’s what us students are called) at Paul Mitchell Huntsville and my experience here has been amazing! The education and culture is the reason I came to school here. I want to address the comments about how long the services take so that you can understand and prepare for your day at Paul Mitchell the school when you come in for a service. This is a SCHOOL and there’s multiple different levels of experience when it comes to the students. Some of us have been here a year and some have only been here for a couple months. Some of us come to school with previous experience and some of us don’t. We all deserve service experience though! It is a school after all and we come here to learn hands on training! So when you schedule your service, please plan to be there at least a few hours and be understanding when it takes longer than what you expected. The way it works is we start the consultation and then we introduce the guest to our learning leader and we agree with a plan for the service. The future professional will then begin the service and each service has to be checked by the learning leader before continuing to the next step in the service. This insures that you get a quality service and don’t leave with an uneven haircut, etc. Keep in mind there are more students than learning leaders so sometimes even we have to wait to ask a question. Have you ever started a new job and realized it takes you a little longer than others who have been in the position for years? The same thing goes for us future professionals! We appreciate our guests coming in to allow us to practice our skills and timing on each service! One thing you can always count on is walking into an accepting, positive, and uplifting environment! We like to have a fun time at Paul Mitchell while we create and practice our art! Thank you for taking the time to read this, for supporting our education and future careers, and for being understanding ❤️"
