Taco Mama - Hwy 119

"My family stopped by to grab some dinner and was standing in line to order food. We had two small children with us and tried to grab a table while one of the adults ordered. When we sat down, we were immediately confronted by a staff member that informed us we could not sit at a table until we ordered our food. We tried to explain that we had two children (under 5 years-old) and standing in line with them was cumbersome with diaper bags, etc.. The staff member stated “I’m sorry, however it is our corporate policy that all customers order before sitting down.” Again, we tried to explain that one adult was in line to order, while the other adult sat at the table with the children. We also explained that there is limited seating for those with children requiring a high chair (high top tables are not an option). The staff refused to consider this common sense approach and we were not allowed to stay seated. If this is truly a “corporate policy” maybe Taco Mama could use a little common sense training pertaining to customer service. While we were walking out, a gentleman was sitting at an outside table and we questioned why this was allowed. The staff member stated “he has been sitting there for about an hour waiting for guests to arrive.” You can’t make this up… and I’m still trying to make sense out of all of this. We will dine elsewhere from now on. Not family friendly and definitely not a kid friendly environment."

"Went here for the first time tonight and was very impressed! Over the top customer service from the moment I walked through the door with a detailed explanation of the menu, amazing food, frequent drink refills, and friendly staff. We just moved to Birmingham from Utah where the customer service was trash. This was a great welcome to our new home. We’ll for sure be back to Taco Mama!"

"My husband and I love this Taco Mama! Every single time we go (which is about once a week, if not more), the staff are incredibly kind, helpful, and put a smile on my face! The food is consistently delicious, and the margaritas are fantastic as well. I highly recommend the nachos! There is enough food in one serving that I always have lunch the next day as well. We don't go out to eat very often, but when we do, it's always to the Taco Mama on 119. Cheers to the great staff!!"

"Quality is pretty good but the two taco (crunchy)combo was rather unimpressive in size. The tacos were tiny, not any bigger than what you’d get at “the bell”. Look at the tacos next to my “side” of beans to get an idea. For $12 I didn’t think the value was there. The Staff was friendly and the place was clean. The beans tasted fine and I think the salsa was freshly made. I may try another dish there but will steer clear of the crunchy tacos, unless I’m on a diet."
