"The red snapper, oh my god. There’s a difference between good food and great food, and Humming Bird Way certainly falls into the latter of the two categories. The rotating menu keeps both frequent fliers satisfied and new customers wanting more. "To begin, I opted for the oysters, and they certainly lived up to expectations. The variety of wine, beer, and cocktails available was impressive. The oysters were truly delightful, offering a diverse selection, and the mignonette sauce complemented them well. While the marinated crab claws were decent, they could have benefited from some seasoning or a hint of salt. Among our group, the biscuit service, the fried flounder with curry sauce, the duck, and the grits were popular choices, and everyone seemed happy with their selections. Our server, Kat, provided exceptional service with her warm and attentive demeanor. However, there are a couple of aspects I would suggest improving. The noise level in the restaurant was uncomfortably high, making conversation difficult at our small table. Perhaps incorporating rugs or softer surfaces could help mitigate this issue. Additionally, while I appreciate the emphasis on fresh ingredients, I found the menu to be somewhat limited. The absence of the rabbit dish listed online was disappointing, and not everyone enjoys bleu cheese, which was included in the sole steak option. In my opinion, a bit more variety would enhance the dining experience. Lastly, the creme brulee was a letdown. Its texture was barely set, and the flavor was bland. Considering how straightforward creme brulee is to prepare, this was surprising. I doubt I'll be ordering it again here. Overall it was a nice experience and I would return for the fresh oysters and enticing cocktail selection."

"We just happen to find this restaurant by googling local restaurants near me. And we are glad we did. We went about 3:00 P.M. the restaurant was not busy. The atmosphere was great. The decor was pleasing to the eye. Along with the music. The menu had a nice variety to choose from.The server was very attentive. The marinated crab claws were delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant, it's off the beaten path, well worth it. I will definitely be going back. Also the menu changes everyday, the chef made the effort to come by our table to make sure we enjoyed everything."

"Basically just stunt food. Looks great in pictures but to the tongue it's pretty much a disaster. Had the dumplings squash soup which would have been excellent had there not been any green onions to overpower the delicate flavor of the soup. The casino oysters were a textural nightmare. Good flavor if you don't mind plain bread crumbs dumped on top. The wedge salad is advertised as romaine but delivered iceberg. Which was ordered "not grilled" because high heat turns lettuce into a rubbery and chewy wilted dog treat. The "cocktail sauce" that came with my order of murder point oysters was nothing more than plain ketchup. The hangar steak and hash wasn't bad. But I wasn't feeling the expense vs experience of the entire restaurant. Given the experience, quality of dishes and verbage of the menu wording I'll go far enough to say that this place is nothing more than an advertisement for a fine dining experience that doesn't even deliver the advertisement, much less the experience."

"Found The Hummingbird on Google on a recent trip to Mobile, and was so completely satisfied with the wonderful service and excellent food. We didn't have a reservation, and it was a busy night, but they accommodated us with grace. The restaurant is lovely and little pictures of hummingbirds throughout. The food was incredible. The oyster selection ranged from east to west coast. The west coast oishis were my favorite. Pickled crab claws had a great lime dressing and a little heat. My favorite though were the BBQ shrimp. The chef's version of this New Orleans classic was outstanding. It's served with a thick piece of griddled cornbread that soaked up the broth and transformed into a rich, luscious bite. There were plenty of other choices on the menu and that includes their tasting menu. And the patio was great. Bistro lights made for a romantic little spot."
