Although it may be easily missed while driving along Lakeshore Drive, just north of Manistee, it is a tranquil spot worth visiting. Located off Lakeshore Drive, just past Birch Road heading North from Manistee, Michigan, Bar Lake Access provides a serene setting for visitors to relax and enjoy nature. Please note that due to high water levels, there is currently no access to the Bar Lake Beach.

"Hands down, one of the best spots for an unobstructed view of the sunset. We went early in the season (Saturday of Memorial Day weekend), so there weren't many people around at all. I imagine it'll be busier come June. The water was VERY cold, but that didn't stop my daughter and I from going in to check out the rocks that were about knee deep from shore! Great spot for rock hunting for sure because of the crystal clear water, but not so much on beach glass - only found 2 super small pieces!"
