"In early September 2023, I visited Town and Country Ford to inquire about a truck I was interested in. The truck was listed at $46,000. I made an offer of $41,000 for the truck, which was promptly rejected. Over the next several months, I noticed Town and Country gradually reducing the price of the vehicle, approaching the amount I initially offered. On December 21, the truck was listed online for $41,500. I promptly visited the lot in Bessemer and offered Town and Country a cash offer of $41,000, only to have it rejected by the Sales Manager, who insisted on including taxes, bringing the total to around $43,500. My response to the Sales Manager was that as a business person, if I were in his position, it is illogical to me to potentially lose $41,000 over a $1,500 difference. Three weeks later, the truck was listed on their website for $39,890 and sold the next day. I never received notification of the reduced cost, which would have aligned with my original offer made approximately 5 months earlier. In conclusion, Town and Country should strive for transparent and consistent pricing practices, considering market dynamics rather than solely focusing on maximizing profit. As a businessperson, I find it illogical to lose $41,000 over a $1,500 discrepancy. This experience leads me to advise against patronizing this dealership in the future."
