"Since the 80s we have trusted the Dundee H&R Block office to prepare our taxes. We have been going there so long that our original preparer retired. We will NO LONGER trust Dundee H&R Block do our taxes. We made an appointment to have our taxes prepared as usual on Feb 3, 2023. After we made the appointment my wife got Covid and could not come in person so we turned our taxes in. When we received our tax forms back there was a different preparers name on them and we were not asked or informed about anyone else doing our taxes. After waiting over 2 weeks we checked the "where's my refund" tool on the IRS website where we saw our taxes had not even been accepted yet. We called the office to speak to our usual tax preparer, but she wasn't available. Then we checked the IRS website again and our taxes were just accepted. We then were able to reach our usual tax preparer and she told us the IRS computers accidentally sent some returns back to them and they didn't catch it. So that meant we would have to wait another 21 days at least for our refund. Our tax preparer then said be on the lookout for a refund check for our preparation fees, 10 days or so. We waited 4 weeks and no check. When we called the office again, she can't be reached. On the third or 4th try we finally get to speak to her or rather have her talk over us for 10 minutes. She claimed she didn't "promise" the refund of our tax preparation fees, but that she would submit it. That's not the way We recall the conversation. We don't care to have our taxes passed off to someone we've never met with, who is less qualified and without ou permission. Also not catching an error of this magnitude for 21 days is unacceptable. And finally telling clients that have been loyal to your company since the 80's that they aren't worth 165.00 after THEY admitted making a mistake is just a slap in the face. So we no longer have any interest in going to H&R Block Dundee."
