"It's such a quiet place! North of Ironwood. Off the highway, but still a paved road. 3 different waterfalls are located down Black River Road. Cathy gave excellent directions and was super helpful! Furry friends are welcome, and that is a huge plus for me! Unfortunately, it was rainy and cold, of course, so I didn't get to explore much, but that didn'tstop the deer from coming up to the back porch. She has everything one needed for a good night sleep, a shower, and a home cooked meal right in the cabin! I will definitely be back."

"My wife and I were planning a backpacking adventure across the upper peninsula of Michigan starting in Ironwood. Luckily, we were pointed in the direction of Rockhound Hideaway as a place to stay the night before we started our hike on the North Country Trail which is only a stones throw away. We stayed in the yurt and it was fantastic!! It was a really fun experience, and there is a quick path down to the Black River where there is some really great falls activity. As a bonus, the hosts are just wonderful people. Super friendly, genuine and helpful. I can totally see coming back for another visit."
