"Very nice place to camp. You can either get in or get out of the Muskegon River right there. Plenty of parking. People very respectful of quiet time, showers could be updated, but work well. Most sites are electric only, there are 2 nice cabins . Plenty of space for tent, swings for kids. River very clean , about 2 hours away, far enough from home but yet close if any issues."

"Great little campground for a tube trip or a fishing trip. Bathrooms are clean and the sites are big. They also have a couple bigger group sites. There's a boat launch with plenty of parking. We do an annual tube trip here every year and the staff is pretty laid back."

"People, other campers, were snotty. They have no trails to walk. They said they had a trail but it was in a campers back yard and it looked like a road. We walked for a good block before we found an actual hackers trail. After we got there, there was a 50 foot drop and we had to go back. Coming back we took, what we thought was the right trail, back in only to find it was another campers backyard. There is no water at the sites and you have to fill up when coming in. There were showers, they were clean. The lake was small and nice. Minus the trail, I had the time there. The playground was only a swing in a sandbox."

"Fairly clean restrooms for a county park. Large campsites. Great place to get out after putting in at thornapple. About a 3 and half hour trip. Camp host was friendly and helpful and rode around looking for a pair of sunglasses that someone in our group lost. They have volleyball, pickleball, and a great disc golf course."

"May 28, 2021. Check in was smooth, sucks you must buy a County Park Pass to camp. We used sites 7 and 8, friends had the Heron Cabin. 7 starts out sunny in the morning then shade, 8 and 9 stay mostly sunny. 2 stall bathrooms are decent, 4 individual shower rooms with lukewarm water, good pressure. Pickleball courts are being worked on, no nets. Several water sources in the campground to get water, overall, a nice campground close to the Manistee River. Cell service was great using Sprint/T-Mobile"
