"We decided to leave our pediatric dentist after our 3 year old had a bad experience. When transferring to Dr. SHORTT we explained our concerns with our daughter being comfortable during her exam. I spoke with the hygienist who was very understanding and reassured me she would only do what our 3 year old was comfortable with. The hygienist did an AMAZING JOB! My 3 year old who had been traumatized by our previous dentist was able to laugh and participate in the exam. She had a great time and with no tears. I would recommend Dr. SHORTT's practice to anyone with children ."

"I am not one to leave a bad review. Everyone deserves some grace and a second chance, but there was no effort made to make this right when I called the office upset... I am so disappointed with our recent visits to Shortt Dental and how the office handled our billing. There are 4 people in my family who go (went) here for 3 years. Myself, my husband, and my 2 children (4 and 2 years old). We recently received new dental insurance through Humana (very common) so I called to schedule visits for everyone in our family to get a cleaning. BEFORE the appointment date, they asked that I send over our new insurance card via email so they could see what our plan was and put it in their system. I did so, they had it in their system and come the days of our visits for myself, my children and my husband, NOT ONCE did somebody inform us PRIOR TO SERVICE that they do not use Humana as a provider and that it would be out of network. Not when I called to make an appointment, not in our conversations about my insurance card that they needed me to get them before day of service, not when I checked in at the front desk, not when I filled out paper work, nothing. My husband, who had the last appointment almost 1 week after us was the one they informed about this while checking out AFTER everyone had already had service done. When he got up to the desk to check out and pay his copay, he was told that there was a balance on our account along with finance charges. WE JUST HAD SERVICE DONE 2 WEEKS AGO AND HAVE NOT EVEN RECEIVED A BILL YET, HOW ARE THERE FINANCE CHARGES ON OUR ACCOUNT? He was then told that they do not work with Humana and we will owe more than they thought because what we paid previously was just an estimate. I feel like we got the bait and switch here. This is just very dishonest. Why were we not told this upfront? We never would have proceeded. After getting a phone call from my husband when he left the office, I called and spoke with the office manager. There was absolutely no attempt in making this right. She basically told me on the phone that she knows all of the women in the office have worked there a long time and know this and basically made me feel like she was calling me a liar. Although I loved our hygienist who was such a sweetheart, especially with my children, I'm sad to say they lost us as patients. We will never again go back to Shortt Dental."
