"After my family has been with this practice for 21yrs, the behavior of the receptionist has made us choose to find care elsewhere. No one should ever speak to someone the way I was spoken to, spoken over, disrespected and demeaned. It started with her calling my husband to tell him that I had missed my appointment, never called me to inform me of this. She made the mistake of putting me on the wrong day. She had offered this day to start, and I had to decline because I had a 2hr meeting already in my schedule. She offered a week later and accepted, and made the comment that I would be in twice that day because my teenager’s appointment was later that same day. She offered me the appointment card and I declined as I repeated the day agreed on. When I confronted her about this over the phone, she insisted that other employees were standing nearby and they would agree with her as to what actually happened in the office that day. When she called my husband, while he was at work, was told we owed a $35 missed appointment fee and that she was ready to take the payment when he was ready. He told her he was at work and did not have his card on him to take care of it right then. When I called to question the situation she told me I owed a $50 (not $35 as she told my husband) no show fee and she could not reschedule me until it was paid, and that there was nothing she could do about this due to the software that the accountant’s office had set up for the office. I said I wanted to speak with the office manager and both Borwick and Jenkins and the response was “I’ll be sure to send them the message, but weather or not you’ll receive a call, I can’t say.” In the end, I told her to remove all 4 of our upcoming appointments for the following week and we will be seeking care elsewhere. This breaks heart, we love our dental team, our children love our dental team, but being spoken over, made to look as though I am lying, and not even given the opportunity to speak to anyone above her, we will not be returning as long as the receptionist is employed there."
