"I had a pair of 1000Mile Boots resoled at Ann Arbor Shoe Repair, they did a really great job replacing the leather soles. Very fast and very fairly priced. I am satisfied and will return in the future."

"I wanted to increase the heel lift on a pair of weightlifting shoes by 3/8”. After explaining what I needed (a firm wedge on the sole blended into the forefoot), they did better than I expected. The wedge was placed between the original sole and the factory heel wedge so that it looks like it came that way. Highly recommend this service to anyone lifting who have trouble getting into the bottom position on squats, snatches, and cleans."

"I brought in a pair of boots that needed new heels and wraps and a pair of shoes with crepe soles that had worn through. The good news was the boots - they came back great. The bad news was the crepe soles. The proprietor had proposed to grind off some of the sole and glue a new sole on. One shoe was fine, but the other was ground unevenly and had about a 2% grade across the back end of the shoe, taller on the outside. I brought the shoes back thinking it would be a straightforward fix, as the tilt was very obvious sighted along the bottom of the shoe, but instead the proprietor said I had something wrong with my foot. He said he couldn't see any unevenness and tried to show me with a ruler that it was even. It wasn't, but 1-1.5mm is hard to measure with a ruler. When I wasn't satisfied, he offered to fix the problem he couldn't see, and I had to swear I'd be happy with it. Obviously, I did not take him up on this. If you have a straightforward fix where it's easy to see where to stop grinding the shoe, go for it. My boot heels look great. But if you need the sole ground down evenly without an obvious stopping point, absolutely save your money and put it toward a new pair of shoes. He needs to be working with calipers to do that work safely, and he's apparently not. And if you end up with a shoe that will lead to joint problems if you actually wear it, don't expect this guy to be at all accountable."

"I had a pair of old steel toe boots where the sole was separating from one, and the lining and cuff had separated from the upper on both of them. The boots are otherwise comfortable and well-built, except for weak stitching where the lining had separated, so I didn't want to get rid of them and find a new pair that I like. Took them here, said what I wanted, and got a good price to fix them. Came back in a week, and they feel rock solid and look great. This guy is a craftsman. He also added reinforcement along the back inside, where the heel slides in and out My only complaint would be that the arch feels much more substantial, as if material was added to it. I do not like arch support in my shoes at all and wear minimalist shoes otherwise, but since I usually only wear these for a few hours a week, it wasn't too big of a deal for me."

"I brought in a backpack with a broken zipper (the slider had separated from one side). I was expecting it to cost at least $30, but the owner gave me an incredibly reasonable price! The service itself is definitely high quality. The zipper looks brand new and works perfectly. Overall I'm glad I chose this place and will come back if I have anything that needs fixing again!"
