The Salvation Army Family Store & Donation Center 14275 Eureka Road, Southgate, MI 48195

"Prices are high here. I have seen dollar store items with dollar tree tags on it and the SA price is 50%higher. They used to sell China sets but now they mark each and every piece and break up the sets. All tea cups are one price the plates another. I don't like that. I also will see the exact same item two or three of them and each one has a different price tag. If you ask about it you will get yelled at. If you see something without a tag don't fall in love with it. They will not sell it to you. I don't donate here anymore becasue they are rude and too picky. I arrived to donate 2 min before the open time and the man got mad and told me to come back later they were not open. The time before that I was question as to what I was donating. He opened the bags and said we don't like so many clothes. So I just go elsewhere now."

"Customer service is horrible. Especially the bald guy who was screaming at a customer that was donating because they got out of their vehicle and that they had to wait so they could be on camera. They left and so did i. That is no way to talk to someone. I will not be going to this location ever again. They also need to clean it up a bit. Its rather dirty all the time now."

"The location is overall clean and tidy and pretty well organized, staff is polite and friendly. My issue is with pricing (which may be on corporate, not necessarily individual locations?). At this point we all know people are reselling thrift finds at absurd markups online, but the inflated prices *in store* are getting ridiculous. For people who rely on thrift stores as their primary resource for things like clothing its hardly worth it to shop at Salvation Army when you could get a similar item new for the same price at Meijers. There’s definitely some stuff worth the inflated prices, but it’s still very much pricing out people."

"I have noticed things have gotten a little expensive here. Most of the women's jeans were priced at $7.99 and I find that high for a second hand store. I found a few jeans way overpriced $19.99 & $14.99. It doesn't matter the brand of the jeans in my opinion. It's a second hand store. Most poor people have no clue of the brand's and not to mention this store had these things donated to help other people. Why would you make it so expensive that the poor can't even afford? The dressing rooms need to be cleaned. The mirrors need to be wiped down and the floor had dust balls. The store is overflowing with clothes. Most are out of date. They should put their bell bottom and big bottomed jeans 75% off. In my opinion they have way to many. There was only one cashier and a long line. Stars to the cashier she was very friendly. I noticed someone with a review that said you have to pay for your bag on the way out. I did not have to pay for a bag. All the time I spent in here I only bought 1 pair of jeans and they were $7.99 with 25% off green tag special."
