"Disgusting, rude & profiling staff. Specifically the male that wears some tacky crown and the two female managers upfront. I came in to purchase a flat iron and not one staff member assisted me, yet they all followed me around the store like weirdos. Babe, I’m a professional stylist. Salon Centric was out of the flat iron I needed, so I figured I would stop by Ulta. That was the biggest mistake I made. Would 100% recommend going to any other Ulta besides this one. I’ve never been treated so rudely by the staff of a company before. Absolutely disgusting."

"Shame on this establishment. 5 hours, 180$, and A botched salon service later: I walked out of Ulta sobbing trying to figure out how I’m going to fix my hair before the formal event I have to attended tomorrow evening. I have been getting a haircuts and blonde highlights for 20 years, never have I left in such a sorry state. My hair is all different shades and rusty orange with brassy Hues, brown spots and streaks, and chunks on blonde underneath my hair in the back. And since the process took 4 hours and 38 minutes to thoroughly destroy my hair, I was told it was too late to do my haircut. So with my hair frizzy orange and half dried, I walked through the store to pay. I was so embarrassed I had to put my hood on, then i realized I had to figure out what I'm going to do about my hair for work and everything else I have to be seen by people, including the formal event I’m supposed to go to tomorrow evening. Iv been crying ever since. But this quality of service must be normal for people working at Ulta since nobody seemed to care, they had no problem charging me full price to destroy my hair, knowing I’m going to have to pay a double that for a professional to fix their negligence. Go to a real salon with actual professionals, DO NOT TAKE THE RISK. They don’t care how. I don’t blame the girl who did my hair though, this is definitely a management issue"

"I have to start by saying that my wife goes there a lot more than I do. However, the few times I have visited, I had a positive experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and polite. After a few minutes in there, I usually get approached and asked if I need help, and yes, I always do. They point me in the right direction, or if I don't know exactly what I am looking for, they help me figure it out. The store is very well stocked, I always find what I am looking for."

"In the past I have preferred this location to the one in Royal Oak because it feels more organized and has a great selection. However, I was in recently and did not enjoy my experience. The store manager of this location is EXTREMELY pushy, even after you politely tell her you don’t need any assistance. I came in for a specific product and I knew exactly where it was. My intention was to grab that and then maybe take a quick look at some other items before checking our. After I told her that I didn’t need help (I’m a quiet person and I like to shop on my own), she continued trying to upsell products and I did not want to be rude, but it took me physically turning partly away from her for her to finally walk away after telling her multiple times I did not require assistance and did not want to apply for a credit card. I left without purchasing or looking at other products because of how I was feeling. So, she actually lost me purchasing more because I just wanted to leave! I understand that there’s probably pressure on here to make quotas and have people sign up for things. I’ve worked retail myself. However, her style made me uncomfortable and I don’t know if I will enjoy my shopping here in the future."
