"Shopping for formal dresses for the Spring Dance. Macy's has changed since I was younger. Gone are the plethora of helpful sales people to assist you with and guide you on your purchase path. Much like the original K-Mart model begun by Kresge's, it was entirely self-service. The selection is still first rate, but it has transitioned from a store where purchases are made, to a large place where you can try on and physically touch the items you will then purchase online. They've gone from a five-star, high-end shopping experience, to a replacement for the Whitmark catalog showroom. Worth a visit, but manage your expectations. This is not the Macy's that has to compete with Bloomingdale's, this is the Macy's that owns Bloomingdale's outright and doesn't need to compete with anyone."

"We have 2 Macy's in the GR area. I prefer this one. My daughter has always found a nice dress for homecoming here. The jewelry department was very helpful but we couldn't find anything to match her dress. Stock was low in the women's department. My size was already gone in many things. Macy's needs updated lighting and more staff in the clothing departments. The cashier was very nice."
