"Let me first start off by staying that if I could give this review 0 stars I would. My mother is here in Michigan visiting and she has been getting her hair done the same way for many years. My mother has highlighted hair , she has been getting blond highlights for the majority of her life. My mother just recently had gotten her hair done again, to refresh her blond. Part of my mothers color service that she gets is a toner to brighten her blond in her hair. She didn’t have time for that part of her appointment for her last color service. So when we arrived in Michigan we went to Sally’s to get a toner, toners are harmless if you know what you are doing and just brings out the brightness of your blond. So the lady at the counter showed us a few options for toner, that was perfectly fine. We purchased the toner. My mother showed her hair to the lady at he front counter and told her that she has used purple shampoos in the past to help lift the brassy from her blond. She then asked my mother if she has ever used a blue shampoo on her blond hair before, my mother informed her that she had not used a blue shampoo on her hair. She has used purple shampoos and informed her that they have worked in the past. This lady, I believe her name is Susie said that using a blue shampoo would help lift that brassy color. So we took her advice and purchased the blue shampoo. Now we know nothing about hair and trusted the advice we were given as it seems that the employees working there would have had at minimum BASIC PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE. Well that was not the case at all. We came home, my mother used the blue shampoo on her blond hair, and it completely RUINED her blond hair, all of her hair is now no longer blond but it is infact bright blue. My mother was very frustrated and upset (as anyone would be). So at this time the store was closed and we waited til the next day to go back to this location to express our upset about this situation. Upon us going back we showed them what the product they recommended had done to my mothers hair. Now the lady did offer an apology but shortly after that another lady from the back came forward and was very rude to my mother. Her first objective was defending themselves rather than providing professional customer service and helping us with options to fix my mothers hair. We asked for a refund and it was given to us but the fact of the matter is that any Sally’s beauty supply representative should have basic product knowledge of what they are selling to their customers, we don’t know anything about hair. So we trusted the employees knowledge of a simple product. Seeing now that you can’t even simply trust that. Which is sad. They were very rude and acted like we were in the wrong for even being frustrated. So I had to take matters into my own hands and call the corporate number for some further assistance for this situation. I would be cautious if you go to this location if you are looking to receive any hair based knowledge or basic product knowledge. I can no longer say that it is trusted advice by any means. We have filed a report and waiting to here back from corporate where we hope to have a better conversation and outcome of professional customer service for a resolution versus them trying to defend their case."

"First time in a Sally’s, the two ladies working on 02/24/23, sorry I don’t recall names. They were super helpful making sure that I got everything I needed and had directions to follow to color babe’s hair myself for the first time. By far one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in my life. Thank you so much ladies."

"Staff is always helpfull and i love the return policy. Ive never had to return anything yet beacuse all the sugestions ive gotten so far have worked amazing. Only critic i have is i wish they had a slightly bigger gel polish selection. With the Covid going on the gel polish shelves have been scarce."

"I went in and talked with the employee and explained to her that somebody covered my blue hair with black dye and messed it up terribly and wanted her advice on how to get it out and get it to a base color I could dye dark red. She handed me a few packets and developer and said if you use this then you will get a dirty blonde. Fair enough. Got home and used it all and before you ask ive bleached hair a million times before so i know what I'm doing the blue and black was just new for me. Well lets just say I didnt end up with dish water blonde I looked like Harley Quinn but with the green instead of blue. After that I had to go and figure out a different product to fix it but to say the least I'm not amused and I cant come in and say anything because of moving out of state on Monday. But I'm not happy that I had to go out and spend more money just to fix that."
