"My friends and I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was carefully prepared and delicious. We loved the skewered selection of apps the most and the sake. We will be back !"

"What a lovely addition to the downtown restaurant scene! Detroit needed this! The experience was amazing from start to finish. You’re given cleansing towels at the beginning of your meal to “open your senses.” The menu is easy to navigate and has an amazing range of items without being excessive or overwhelming - you can tell it’s a thoughtful and very intentional menu. The sushi was extremely fresh and well balanced. We ordered about 5 items to share and were pleasantly shocked by the quality and taste of all dishes - we knew this place would be good, but it far exceeded our expectations. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and shared where some of the ingredients were sourced/why certain ingredients were chosen. We will definitely be back to try some menu items that they ran out of while we were there. For only being open 2 weeks, this place has got it down! I would highly recommend checking this place out you won’t be disappointed!!"

"People are great, food is great, the atmosphere is amazing. Sitting at the bar is a nice experience especially facing the kitchen. The aroma of the wood fire is pleasing. The sushi is aggressively priced but probably normal for a place like this and you’re not coming here for the quantity you’re coming here for the quality. Tea service is spot on also. Got to experience some exotic fish, barracuda and cornetfish."

"I've been looking for a high quality sushi restuarant in Detroit or even the general area for a long time and haven't found anything really close to what I have had elsewhere in major cities. We'll that changes today. Menu variety is extensive. Something for everyone. Cooked food, fresh food, authentic food it's all there. I feel I could find something to eat no matter what my food preference was. Black Cod Robata (Cooked on a real Robota Grill) was the highlight of the whole night. Easily matched my experience at Nobu restuarants. Sushi was immaculate. I value details in my sushi experience. Fish was fresh of course but the sushi rice was near perfect. Flavorful and fall apart when eating, as it should be. Being around restaurant industry for a long time, I know when prices are overinflated, and while the prices here not the cheapest, it seems like a lot of items are fairly priced especially for the quality ingredients used. I was seated at the Kitchen side seating. It was great to meet Chris from the kitchen whom oversaw most if not all of the dishes that came my way. Open kitchen concept shows me that the kitchen staff have nothing to hide, which is greatly appreciated. In addition they have an omakase sushi bar which I am excited to try in the future. Easily one of my favorite restaurants I've had in the Midwest."

"Hiroka-San just opened and is just starting to get their rhythm. Have patience and you will be rewarded. This place is going to be reservation only. Awesome cuisine and atmosphere. If you find a speakeasy, don't tell or you may never get back into it."
