"From the beginning I was left in the dark. My very first apt was over the phone because of COVID-19, not even a zoom call. Now I’m a hairstylist, who has at the minimum 10 different people in my chair face to face and I did not meet Dr. Wolf or my nurse until my 3rd apt. For my very first apt for blood work and ultrasound I had to wait 2 1/2hrs in my car to only go in for a 8min apt....fasted, was never told how much blood was going to be taken(6 tubes) and then and a ultrasound that was taken where it should be written on my medical records that were sent over that I only have 1 (left) ovary, and several times they looked for the (right )ovary with question of where it is....and I would have to say I don’t have one! I was told at that apt I would meet my doctor and nurse , that did not happen , I was also told that upon meeting my nurse I would be explained my timeline of what to expect through out my ivf journey, I was handed a piece of paper quickly and then was rushed out of the room. I left crying wondering why I am spending $25,000 when I’m treated “literally” like a number and not at all like a vulnerable women who is struggling to have a child. My husband was never able to come with me, so I never had someone with me who could be the second ear to ask a question.... The entire journey was quick and very confusing. I only had three embryos, that very quickly ended with transferring two and the third did not survive. I was never told why nothing worked..”A Nurse”, not my doctor, called me to tell me my two embryos did not take and my test was negative, why????? No answer... Since then I’ve had no follow up, no question if we wanted to start again, no answers. Just done and over.....again, left in the dark. My experience was horrible. I’m sorry , but when you go thru this very personal, very expensive, very hard journey as a woman to go thru, I would expect a little hand holding, some explanation of what to expect, a little direction....I’m saying this to let you know that you are just a number to this practice. You are not cared for in any way, just another paycheck to them. I would never refer anyone to this practice. It has been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever been thru, the saddest journey I’ve ever taken, and the most confusing and frustrating thing I’ve ever done. They need to remember “We” are looking to them for help, stop assuming we know what we are doing and help us.....remember we are so hopeless at this time in our life...a little hand holding goes a long way. I hope your ivf journey never compares to mine. Rachel Hesselink"
