Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brighton South - US 23, an IHG Hotel

"Our room had a heavy smell of smoke and the bathroom sink was clogged and couldn't drain. We called down to the front desk and they said that the hotel was fully booked. My wife said you want us to stay in this room? They said come down and we will give you another room. My wife went down and got the keys and only 1 key worked for the new room and 1 key didn't. The fridge in the new room had food left in the fridge and freezer. Our son had a room with his friend and their fridge also had leftover food in it. The juice machine was out of order at breakfast with a fully booked hotel. We travel a lot and this was the first time that we have been let down."

"Very disappointed. Rented three rooms with my family and looked forward to relaxing in our rooms to watch the big Lions game only to find out the TV's are not working. No mention of this from the staff at check in. No discount given. No milk at breakfast and waffle maker broken. Keep driving and skip this place."

"This place was really bad. Sure the pool was nice, and the room looked cool when you walked in. The room was a disaster when you started to use it. First of all, the mattresses are as hard as a rock. Second of all, the pillows also suck. I was not able to get any sleep! They didn't have ANY good breakfast options. No bacon, no sausage, so eggs, NO NOTHING! The stuff that I got wasn't good. Genuinely the worst hotel breakfast I've had. Our bathroom also flooded because the shower drain didn't work. That's not even the worst part! When we tried to make coffee, there was a bug in the water, and pieces of bugs in the water! Absolutely disgusting. Not to mention this is a brand hotel!!! Absolutely horrible, and disgusting hotel. One star."

"Terrible service. Stayed 2 nights. No housekeeping between nights (nobody told us obviously). Second morning asked for 2 towels (5ofus in the room). Front desk said they have no towels!!! Meanwhile housekeeping in in the hallways with carts loaded with them. Oh well. A new low in service. Also, breakfast is the absolute worst. Trash everywhere, cold food when available etc. Pick a different place."

"Rooms were fine, a little dirty in the bathroom but acceptable. Skyler at the front desk charged all of our cards for the rooms even though it should have been for the $20 incidental fees and the company card for the rooms. He told us not to have pool parties? Very weird and rude. Thankfully the manager addressed the issue."
