"I stayed for 2 nights and wanted to leave after the first night. The place was not clean and smelled awful. I mentioned it to the owner and he got defensive and rude. He called me a male Karen. It's to bad because it's 5 minutes away from my sister's home whom I was visiting. Ide rather drive 20 more minutes than stay at this filthy place."

"Well my brothers and I just stayed two nights at Riverlodge inn. My brother left a review about the lack of accommodations there. No insults, or attack on ownership. Just stating the obvious. They responded by calling our brother a drunk. Not true, he rarely drinks. They said he bothered the guest. Not true barely spoke. Me and our other brother were socializing. They said we apologized for him. Not true again. They said he didn't fit in that's why it's been 20 years since he's been there. Not true, he's been in college. They said he needs rehab. Not true! He helps people rehab. Ownership does not like negative reviews. So they questioned his integrity and moral values. The bottom line. Ownership is less than professional in there approach. And run a cheap motel. With a lack of accommodations."

"My wife and grandchildren came to visit my brother and sister in law and niece and this place is a gem that is beyond any place we have stayed as we travel. We met the owner and his wife and we felt like we have known them our whole life, they are just great people who makes your stay the best! The room was beyond our expectation and the quietness of the surroundings is priceless!!"

"Heading to the UP from Columbus, we needed a quick and cheap place to sleep for a few hours. My wife looked up hotels off of I-75 and she found this place. It's definitely off the beaten path, but we really enjoyed it. We called the owner and he had a room available and the door would be open for us. It was exactly what we were looking for. The room was very clean and had the necessary accommodations. I would definitely recommend this place."

"This fisherman's hideout is very well maintained and comfortable. It is basic, basic accommodations, but the impact on me of having a newer bed cover and extremely clean floors were huge. The rooms have a nice sized fridge. I failed to visit the tavern across the street for its Friday fish fry. Nor, having brought food with me, did I avail myself of the corner market. This place is nestled along the Au Sable River, though the tavern is on the banks, not the Inn."
