The Westin Chicago Northwest

"Currently 2/25/24 here for a dance competition/convention that I attend every February. This is the first time we’ve stayed at the Westin Northwest & not at the Westin in Wheeling. And I will save that my experience here at the Westin Northwest in Itasca left a lot to be desired. The booking process was absolute asinine. They messed up my booking information minimum three times me and my fiancé both tried to call up to rectify the situation to which things were constantly spelt wrong & dates were wrong. Not to mention, we get here and find out that there is construction from 8 AM to 8 PM. Keep in mind our days start at 7:30am. We also found out that the people whose rooms were still under renovation. Their entire stay was comped, and they were sent over to another hotel. So here I am paying full price or well not full price, but the special room rate we get with the convention. Skip forward to checking in our room we find out that the air is not working at all again we are here for a dance competition/convention. We are Obviously taking classes and competing so we are hot. this seem to be a common theme among a lot of the rooms that they were all hot, and the AC units were not working. So much so that the hotel sent up too many fans which helped, but at the end of the day, for the rate were paying the unit should be fully working. I understand life happens, but being so hot that we’re sweating through our clothes and having to prop open our door to get air from the lobby to flow in to me is not acceptable. I will say that one of the Westin employees was great and trying to help rectify the situation and doing what she could but the bad taste was kind of already left in our mouth, especially since we being my fiancé and me our fans of the Westin. I have never had this experience at any of the other Westin I have stayed at. I hope property changes can be made and coached up with staff.. Also, elevators are broken and not working That, or this place doesn’t have the capacity to handle this large of an event."

"I photographed a wedding at The Westin Chicago Northwest and it's still one of my favorites! The grounds are absolutely stunning and the hotel rooms photograph well. The staff and other vendors were great. everything went smoothly! Hope to be back soon!"

"We would not stay here again; it was not a disaster but I would expect more from Westin and 4 star hotel; for Gold Marriott member breakfasts are not included; couldn’t take showers on few occasions as the water in the bathtub was not hot enough (11th floor). The location looks good on a map but to get to hwy one must take few side roads. The pool also was closed for maintenance, weird choice during Christmas."

"As a retired female business traveler, I really appreciate the security features. You need a room key to access the sleeping floors in the elevator. The fitness room has a nice view of the distant Chicago skyline. The only negative was that it took a while for the hot water to kick in in the shower. Overall, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. My husband attended a corporate dinner and said the food was excellent. The staff was friendly and helpful."

"Rooms were great, but they supply ear plugs in the room. Seems cool they do, until you realize if you are in a room close to the bistro, you can hear everything very well...even on the ninth floor. Overall, not a bad place to stay. I was there for a conference and it went well, other than the roof construction. The staff, however, asked the crew to stop until our conference was over. But if you want to eat somewhere other than the hotel, you'll have to drive or Uber as it isn't close to other restaurants."
