"I have a hardware store with a rental operation. When we started as a new customer we explained to them who and what the business was. I was a customer of theirs for 6 months paid them over $30,000 in that 6 months and unfortunately to everyone involved had a loss of equipment due to theft for about $20,000. We had a customer pay for a rental then a week later stole the unit, we contacted local police and had a GPS on the unit and tried very hard to recover. After a month of trying decided to officially file the claim with Federated. They denied the claim because we willing "gave" the customer the unit and it was not stolen. The told me see page 97/303 section 2 part C. Think of the stereotypically sleazy insurance company who takes your money but when you have a claim acts like you are trying to steal from them. I would avoid this company at all costs."

"Provided proof of business owner being at fault for basement damage to my home. They have photos and documents even from my city official inspector. Yet, they’ve blamed my family and I for what happened. Even accused us for not having the right installation on all four corners of the home.Kevin tried to avoid answering my questions by saying “I’m not about to go back and forth with you and play games”… How rude of him to say. I know the GOD that I serve will repay this company for the heartache they’ve dealt on to people like me. Even with proof upon request, this company still denies our claim."

"My husband is disabled and cannot operate a motor vehicle anymore and does not have a valid drivers license. They sent him a letter for custom built auto insurance for Minnesota drivers. When he called them and tried to explain the situation to him they rudely hung up on him. He had a CDL and drove for 30 years before he could not drive anymore. They were very unprofessional and know nothing about customer service."

"I have not had any problems with Federated until now. I have not had any claims other than an auto accident that was not our fault. When the policies were supposed to renew in January 2023, I never got the paperwork, I called my agent and didn't get a response for a couple of months, although Federated did extend the good-though date until we received a bill. This has been a tough start of the year and we did start paying our premium, but got behind a little bit, but they cancelled us due to non-payment of premium, understandable, but would not reinstate us. I've never heard of a company not wanting to reinstate when we haven't had claims. Kind of makes me wonder about the company"
