"*DISCLOSURE: I did attend this appointment with an already bad taste in my mouth from my experience at Beaumont.* I don't think this place is bad, but I'm also not impressed by any means. Dr. Brown kept pausing me to explain their process, but I needed him to explain MY PROCESS and explain my mammogram and US thouroughly, which I don't feel he did. From what I gathered that he explained, is that when you have a mammogram, a group of incompetent radiologists take a look, and then draw the number 1- 6 out of a hat. I scored a 5. 5 is bad. So then they do unnecessary biopsies. Dr. Brown explained that it wasn't unnecessary because they always want to biopsy a "solid" mass. So solid is scary but he didn't explain why other than I guess they can tell it's not a cyst. He stated he wouldn't have put my risk assessment at a 5 himself, which makes me wonder why they don't just have specialists read these mammograms instead of these radiologists whose brains have clearly been fried. My benign fibroadenoma was not worth all this chaos, and I know multiple others that did not need biopsies to diagnose their fibroadenomas so I feel manipulated. I used one example during my visit, my sister, and his response was he doesn't know my sister, so he can't say. I don't need you to know my sister to explain why she, AND MANY OTHERS, have not needed biopsies for the SAME DIAGNOSIS. I highly doubt I will ever do even a screening after all this. This guy has great reviews from many people I personally know, so I am not doubting he is good at what he does. But I didn't need breast surgery today - I needed answers - and they were not provided."
