"Its been a while since I took my wife here. she had been suffering from some severe stomach problems for quite some time and was down from 135lbs to around 90. we waited 6 months to get an appointment here, only for the doc to accuse me of not letting her eat, and accuse me of phisical abuse (believe what you want but I would never hurt anyone nor have I ever been accused before or after this) . before turning us away saying that it wasn't a gastrointestinal issue. Immidiatly after, we took her to the MSU emergency room to get her the help that was denied here. They ran the right test right away and found out it was a gastrointestinal issue in fact a common issue with type one diabetics (gastroparesis). So if you can I would recommend searching out a real doctor if you are having stomach issues, not this fraud."
"Absolutely Love my Doctor and the staff! I fully know that there are alot of changes going on between Munson and Milliken merge. I've only had a serious problem recently. Completely unable to reach her. There seems to be a 3rd party handling prescriptions? I do not know. My medication has been out of stock for over a week now. After calling and leaving a message with a 'Munson' person on Sept 24th....to let them know. It is now Oct 3rd....I just received a message that my prescription was sent on the 24th of September...This message was from an unknown person that said it was sent to me from my Dr.s Nurse and the lady that handles the scripts.......No acknowledgement that it is Out of stock. Nor any acknowledgement that my message actually got to my Dr. My pharmacy stated that my only option is to have my Dr send a different strength that iS in stock. I only received a messaged that my script was sent on the 24th of sept. I am currently weaning off another drug along with this issue happening. No help or support with that either. I feel extremely uncared about. My pharmacy is also no help in contacting Dr For me. OH! And 2 separate times I have requested log in help for the patient portal... (the new one). My log in does not work. So I can not even email her. Frustrated"
"My PCP physician, Dr. Anders, left the practice. Milliken promised to let me know where he has gone so I could transfer my medical records, but not a word. In addition, the office and facilities are decrepit and not confidence-inspiring."
"The people who answer the phones, those at the desk and the nurses are top notch and treated me with respect and dignity. That said, if you need gender affirming care you’d be better off leaving the area. The entire Munson system is extremely toxic and hateful toward trans. I’ve been dealing with harassment n discrimination at Munson for the last 17 years. The doctor at this clinic, Morgan Buda, is holding herself out as providing GAC. I was excited for that because we’ve had nothing like that in TC and after I lost my primary care doc in 2009 it’s been a nightmare trying to get any care at all in the area, let alone continue my hormone. Unfortunately I was disappointed as Dr Buda and her assistant Jessica were disrespectful and abrasive right off the bat. Many of the things Dr. Buda said to me made me feel I would not trust her for any type of medical care. I stayed in the meeting for quite a while trying to give her a chance but it just kept getting worse. Instead of working with me, she kept throwing the WPATH document in my face. I began hormone more than 17 years ago and feel I’ve moved beyond this excessive medicalizing and gatekeeping. If something terrible were going to happen to me it would have by now. I wanted to switch to gel and she wanted to prescribe one I didn’t want because of difficulty of use (I prefer packets to pumps) and cost. I told her the type I could afford. She told me my insurance would cover it her way. Yes, it “covers” it but it would cost me HUNDREDS of dollars a month where if she just prescribed the other one I could use GoodRx and afford it. She stated the one she wanted to Rx was “easiest” with no other explanation and refused to Rx the one I wanted. At that point I gave up and left the office with nothing. It’s clear she doesn’t understand the WPATH document. She’s cherry picking the parts she wants to follow and ignoring the rest of it, most relevantly: “the criteria put forth in this document for gender affirming interventions are clinical guidelines; individual health care professionals and programs, in consultation with the TGD person, may modify them. Clinical departures from the SOC may occur due to a TGD person’s unique anatomic, social, or psychological situation […] or the need for specific harm-reduction strategies. These departures should be recognized as such, discussed with the TGD person, and documented.” It’s written right in the document that it’s a guideline not something set in stone to throw in a patient’s face when they want to depart from it a bit. There’s nothing in WPATH stating the brand and type of gel to prescribe either. Thru the entire visit she didn’t try to work with me at all. She was very rude regarding several things in my medical history as well. She didn’t respect me as an elder who has been transitioning a very long time. I was a trans kid who socially transitioned many years before she was born, and she was just a child when I started medical transition. She had no interest at all in my extensive lived experience. She just argued with me and made demands of me like I was a kid just starting out. She claimed that switching from injection to gel is a whole new medication. It’s a new delivery system, not new medication. I said my max in terms of blood tests is 6 months (and that’s pushing it imo) due to my physical and psychological issues with phlebotomy. She completely refused to work with me on that instead demanding every 3 months because that’s what's written in WPATH. I’m unaware of anyone being harmed by stretching out the timeline for blood tests, especially for someone who has been on this hormone for nearly 2 decades. Because Munson Family has also become impossible to work with (they’ve even started misgendering me after being there 8 years) I’m now on my own again, I don't even have primary care. Finally who do you contact when even patient relations treats you badly? Munson is an oppressive, toxic system that's unlikely to change anytime soon FYI"
"Good luck if you have a medical problem and need to reach your doctor. The staff at Milliken Medical is the most unresponsive to patient needs I’ve ever experienced. For over a week we received no response from them after trying multiple messages in a variety of ways, including using the app to message the doctor. Not even an acknowledgment that our messages had been received. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else."
