We did many lessons with Mr. Hernandez and our first dance turned out amazing and our family was shocked when they saw us dance on the big day! "We actually snagged a great Groupon around the holidays which consisted of a 20-minute consolation, 2 private lessons (30 minutes each), and 1 group class (45 - 50 minutes). Overall, the experience was just okay. I was particularly frustrated that on our last session, the instructor insisted that there wasn’t time to answer my questions (about some of the steps we had learned that day), but there was plenty of time (over 15 minutes!) for a sales pitch on why we should purchase more lessons. Additionally, I’m not a super big fan of the Arthur Murray model – rather than offering customers à la carte options (perhaps just private lessons, or just group classes), they force you to do a package of both. If you are in the GR area and looking for a more flexible/affordable option, I would suggest Social Dance Studio. We’ve just started talking a swing dance class there and I’ve really been enjoying the relaxed/fun atmosphere and ability to just take lessons in whatever style of dance interests you most (no forced packages!)"
