Dickey's Barbecue Pit

"We went and ordered the brisket, chicken, macaroni and cheese along with a side of chili with brisket. I would like to say that the brisket was actually brisket but I can’t. It looks and tasted like roast beef. Brisket needs hours of cooking and smoke flavor after it’s tender. The owner says it’s due to how it’s sliced that it looks like roast beef. It had strips of meat and too much fat. It was not a good experience. For the price the weight should not include fat that shouldn’t be eaten. I had to ask for better cuts for us to replace the fat given for our meal. It’s not healthy to eat the fat. My husband had told him he didn’t like fat but we still were served it. $40 spent. No taste of smoke flavor and no smell in the restaurant like it had been done at anytime. The food was not hot. Chicken was cold. Chili bland. Mac and cheese thick and pasty like. Not creamy as the owner said. The food was left on the side and the servers didn’t mention it was ready for us to take. I could say more but they know the food wasn’t right. Mission Barbecue gives better taste and Famous Dave’s beats them all at times. Never again very disappointed. Cold inside."

"MAKE SURE YOU READ ALL THIS REVIEW TO THE END Never again! There were no customers when we walked in at 7:00 pm on a Wednesday night. The brisket is more like fatty roast beef. We had to request more roast beef to replace the pile of fat on my wife’s plate. Everything was cold and had no smoke smell or flavor. The chili did not taste like chili. In my opinion, this owner does not know how to cook brisket. Though it did have a bark on it, it had no smoke ring Which makes sense, since there was no smell of smoke or taste of smoke. The chicken was very dry, the bbq sauces helped a bit with that. Bottom line, don’t waste your time and money - there are better choices. Why brisket tastes like roast beef. Hands down the 1 thing I know will for sure make a brisket taste like roast beef, is if you wrap too early. Meat needs to sit out in the smoke and cooking for long enough or it will taste like a roast (briskets = roast beef, pork butts = pork roasts)"

"I had the Brisket sandwich and bbq beans. The Brisket had a good flavor but was a little dry, and the bbq beans were great. The meal cost almost $18, I did get a drink that came in a souvenir plastic cup but wasn't expecting to spend that much on lunch."

"Order out from Dickeys often and have never once had a bad experience. I get the brisket and chicken and they are very good. They have great sides as well. I love the original BBQ sauce for sure want to get some for home. I have not at at the restaurant so can’t speak on the atmosphere. I highly recommend"
