"Often higher prices, but the best place in town to get all your gardening, yard work, pond and pet needs. They have knowledgeable staff, friendly service, and a great selection of plants. We finally got our first run of chicks from them and all the starter needs for first time chicken owners. Most places run out too fast or only have Leghorn or Comets which we weren't looking for. We got 6 total, a week old and healthy, feisty little babies! The whole family is smitten, and we now know we can get them locally!"
"I absolutely love Chesterton feed and garden located in Chesterton Indiana. The customer service cannot be matched! Period! If I have a question and the person who I’m asking doesn’t know the answer, they are quick to run and find someone who does know the answer. They have never been wrong about anything related to the garden that we started last summer and will be starting again this spring. This past year, we bought all of our garden materials from Chesterton Feed and garden, and We could not be happier. We bought and grew tomatoes, tomatillos, hot peppers, various herbs and bought all the soil, And potting containers, as well as one lime tree and two lemon trees, Romain lettuce seeds, compost starter kit and a few houseplants, as well as a mid century planter and stand for a beautiful snake plant that I purchased from there as well. I honestly cannot see myself going to any other nursery to purchase my materials and plants. We also purchased fertilizer and plant food as well as a grow lamp. Again, the staff has always been helpful and more than Willing to take the time to talk to us no matter how many questions we have. (And we usually have a lot!) This never happens at other stores. They never know anything about plants. But at Chesterton Feed and garden, they make sure that they hire people that know about horticulture & agriculture. I’m obsessed! Also, they have store cat that roams the premises who is super cute and so laid-back, and they also have a Koi pond that is absolutely beautiful! If you’re ever in Chesterton, you should definitely pop in and walk around! I think they would love to see you."
