"Stopped in to see about getting my axle fixed for my Ranger bass boat. Was told it needed replaced and I'm ok with that.they took measurements and pictures of the axle and said they would get a quote and call me back on it. So far it's been 3 weeks and haven't heard a word from them. I called on Monday left a message and never heard back. Terrible customer service will not recommend Vics to anyone out there if I could leave no stars I would ."
"Despite Vic's telling me "we'll call you back" a dozen times or so in the past 5 months, to date, they have never called me back; not once. I built/ordered a brand new boat on Ranger's site. When I did, Ranger's site said I would get a call from the dealership shortly. My assumption was that my phone would ring immediately, as I thought Vic's would be eager to claim this effortless sale - I was wrong. So, I called them the next day, card in hand, trying to pay them the down payment to get my boat officially ordered. "Yeah, we'll give you a call back in a moment" they said. Hours went by - they never called. So, I called them back. "We'll call you back in a minute," they said. Hours went by again, no call. That evening, it was minutes before closing time so I called again. Finally, a guy took my card info and charged me a $1000 down payment (despite the lady at Vic's telling me it's a $500 down payment - but I digress). He told me it would be 8-10 weeks and that they'd keep me updated throughout the process. They did not. Spoiler alert - it took 14 weeks. As the 8-10 week mark came, I had to be the one to pick up the phone. "I'll give Ranger a call right now, see where they're at with your boat and call you right back," said the guy. Never called back. I called the next day. Again, "I'll give Ranger a call right now, see and call you right back," said the guy. No call. I called the next day and a lady told me "the computer says that completion date was pushed back a few weeks". The new completion date comes, and again, I'm the one calling them. The next week or so is more of the same - me asking if my boat is there and when I can pick it up and them saying "we'll give you a call right back" and never calling. 14 weeks after ordering, I call them, they say it's there, so I pick it up. Since having my boat, I've had a few questions about it - mainly the electronics, which weren't communicating. I called Vic's twice. Both times, the lady took down my name and number and said "someone will give you a call shortly." That was two weeks ago now and I'm still waiting for my phone to ring. So instead, I had to reach out to other, responsive companies/dealerships/Technicians who helped answer my questions and solve some mysteries... As it turns out, per a Ranger Tech and a Lowrance Tech (separate people), what Vic's must have done when they added Active Target to my boat, is they un-networked my two brand new Lowrance units, so now my brand new electronics don't communicate. Both of these other Tech's I talked to independently stated that Vic's could have and should have split the ethernet cables so all of my electronics could still communicate. So, thanks, Vic's. And when I told the Ranger Tech about the unresponsiveness of my Ranger dealership, he responded, "Let me guess, Vic's?... Yeah, unfortunately I've heard a lot of bad press about them." So now I have to spend a bunch of time and money to get my fish finders (on a brand new boat) to communicate so they'll share maps, sonar, data, waypoints, etc. Also, the one question I asked when I picked up the boat was "Every lake in PA will be mapped and have contour lines, right?" They confirmed. Turns out the lake I fish most often has no map, and no contour lines, so I had to spend $200 buying a map, which of course, thanks to Vic's, won't be shared between units. Also, my livewell pump wasn't wired, which I found out the hard way the first time out on the water when I tried filling it up. Dealing with Vic's was insufferable. The failed promises of call backs in the number one reason I took the time to write this. Just do what you say you're going to do, it's that simple. They don't deserve a commission. I had to chase them down every step of the way. Fortunately for me, (and unfortunately for Vic's) A BASS PRO SHOPS WITH A BOATING CENTER IS OPENING UP IN NILES, OH, (FALL 2023) so I'll never have to deal with Vic's again. GO TO BASS PRO!"
"Had taken our boat (bought from vics new) in to get fixed on 3 different occasions costing well over 2k dollars. The first 2 times we received an itemized bill claimed to be repaired and he claimed it was all was good. After taking it out to the lake put it in the water to find out nothing had changed same issues. 3rd time dropped it of in the beginning of fall picked up last week of may, claims vst unit is no longer made for motor and we're pretty much SOL. Suggests we buy a new motor. When hooking up trailer to truck noticed that boat cover poles under the cover we're not placed in to keep cover up. After returning home realized boat is completely full of water including tackle and tool box located under front dash. We had pulled the drain plug and ran the bilge fore We'll over 45 mins this is unacceptable not only only did he rip us off charging us for work not done. Leaving our boat outside not properly covered. Essentially turned the cover into a funnel and filled it like a swimming pool....... update to boat to Portage Lakes Marine to have work down by a qualified professional and within 3 days after there tech looked over everything come to find out the labor we paid vic's for was never done but we sure received a bill for it said they sent out injectors to be cleaned the was blatantly a lie. So had injectors cleaned, got boat our on the water she runs like a champ not even a stutter. Best believe the BBB will be getting a report with all the receipts and photos to prove there crooked scammers. Tell me my motors worthless not repairable offer 500 bucks and try to up sell a new yamaha that would run me 13k dollars. When all that needed done was injectors being cleaned. I what you were trying to do pay 500 for a 10k 4 stroke 115 mercury with less than 80 hours on the motor. I have lost all respect for this buisness. We work hard to enjoy life with the little free time that we get and you took an entire boating season away from us for a quick fix charged us 3 k for zero work then flooded are boat after neglecting to properly place the metal supports under the rain cover ruining the entire interior of out boat then have the nerve to charge us to return a boat than never got fixed. I hope karma returns it 10 fold to your buisness."
"I bought a ranger Z118 from Tom. Tom and Vic were very pleasant to deal with. Every employee that I talked to was very respectful and helpful. This place is busy... that must be because they are hard working people who know what they are doing and treat people with respect. I highly recommend them."
"Great customer service, awesome selection of boats, friendly and knowledgeable staff. I bought a Ranger 522D there and had some routine maintenance this winter, everything was perfect and then some. I told them exactly what I needed and the whole list was done. Made my visit excellent knowing I'm going to have a fantastic season catching fish."
