Copper Beech at Bowling Green 2057 Napoleon Road, Bowling Green, OH 43402

"Below is documentation of what I experienced while living at Copper Beech: hot water tank overflowed, leaving the trim rotted, carpet wet (overheard the guy saying on the phone that there’s a little water on the floor). dinner table/ chairs/ bar top chairs are falling apart, can barley sit in them. In the 5-6 times we put in maintenance requests to have them replaced they would come and just slap a few screws in them which made them look terrible and only prolong the problem. wifi gives problems whether you’re trying to stream tv or a zoom meeting for class, whether your on wifi or an ethernet cable. stove tops have literally exploded (twice). where the shower head comes out of the wall is molding (put in a work order, they painted over it, and it’s molding again). the screws they used to “fix” the back porch come out the opposite side of the wood, if not careful you may end up with a hole in your back. they come in for maintenance checks and will literally leave the door standing half open regardless of if you check the box stating you have pets. The best part is when you move out and they completely bend you over with your final statement regardless of how well or unwell you maintained your apartment and its wellbeing. The deposit you put down that they say you will get back at the end of your lease is as good as gone the second you sign that lease."

"I would rather off myself than rent here again. They had a promotional offer for new time leasers but never gave me the promotional until after I intensely emailed them showing proof about it. Then they decided to charge me an excruciatingly painful amount of money for the tiniest stain on the carpet that was there when I first got there. They try their hardest to squeeze every single cent out of you but when it comes time for them to owe you what you're due they either procrastinate or fully ignore you. Literally everything has a fee!! Daniel is a terrible property manager. His employees can't do basic work like answer questions, and they refused to do the even the most minimal things. My apartment was fine, so I can't complain about that. But our neighbors had a mouse issue and had to put out mouse traps on the deck."

"They charge you for every little thing they can. They moved me first into an apartment that was stained and smelled like cat pee. They had someone come shampoo the carpet but it didn't fix the problem but they told me they would not be doing anything else unless I paid for it. They claimed to have sent someone to inspect the carpet and told us the smell was gone (it was not). They the. tried to blame my pet for the mess, even though the carpets were like that when I moved in and my animal was not in the apartment at the time. The furniture provided by them was disgusting. I shampooed my own carpet multiple times, and each time the water was black. I told them the carpets needed to be replaced due to their condition and the obvious smell and stains from previous animals. Then when I moved units (I had to pay for this despite informing them of the previously mention health and safety issues within my unit) they did not issue me a move in inspection (they claim to have done so but when I have asked for proof of this, they have yet to send proof) for the unit so I had to pay for damage that was already there when I moved in."

"PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU LIVE HERE!!! This place is awful and I wouldn’t live here again if my life was on the line. They never fulfill any maintenance requests, they will just ignore them. Part of my roof fell off and they denied the request. Even if they do fulfill the maintenance requests, they will charge you absurd amounts of money for it. The day I moved in my towel rack was ripped off the wall with two little chunks of my wall ripped off with it and I complained that it was ripped off the wall which they then proceeded to fix the next day and charged me for it????? Not only that, when I moved in my room wasn’t cleaned at ALL. There was paint on the carpet, my carpet was ripped off the floor in some spots, and there was cat hairs everywhere. We paid to have our apartment furnished but I definitely didn’t pay for the cat hair all over my furniture. Also, the best part of living here is that they will increase the rent randomly without warning you. Throughout the last 3 months, they increased my rent by a whole $50. At least they were honest when I asked them, because they blatantly told me that rent was increased simply because they could increase my rent whenever they wanted. On top of this, the location is next to a cornfield so all the apartments have horrible mice problems. They also keep taking services away from the people who live here. They “remodeled” the gym, which unlike typical remodeling, they just removed all the equipment and didn’t put it back. Also they shut down their shuttle service because “no one used it” which is a complete lie, I used it at least twice every day to get to and from campus and it was always packed to the last seat. They simply shut it down because they didn’t want to pay for it. Any apartment around here is infinitely better than this place and my biggest regret in life will always be the fact that I lived here at copper beech."

"For anyone looking to live at Copper Beech, let me be the one to tell you, LOOK ELSEWHERE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! The company that runs this complex wants nothing but your money and that’s it, they do not care about you at all. I lived here for 4 years straight because unfortunately it was one of the more cheaper options that accommodated for the amount of friends I was living with. The biggest problem is the charges that they incur on your account when you move out. My roommates and I totaled over $1600 in charges upon move out and mind you we did not party nor have guests over EVER. Only move here if you enjoy throwing money away otherwise go somewhere else."
