Charing Cross Apartments 1017 South Main Street, Bowling Green, OH 43402

"I lived here for 2 years. The roof went bad and water leaked from the ceiling into my bedroom. It took months to repair the roof. This caused water damage in several areas of my apartment. I put in at least 3 work order for the inside to be repaired but was ultimately ignored. I told the apartment manager about the mold that was growing and his response was that mold didn't grow that fast. Like come see for yourself if you think I'm lying. Then that guy quits and they promote the maintenence man to manager. After a year, all of sudden my renters insurance wasn't valid enough for them so they started charging me THEIR renters insurance. So I was paying double. I went to the office and asked the new manager, if I can prove that I was insured the ENTIRE time, would they at least credit the money I had to pay back to me. He said no and that he doesn't have anything to do with renters insurance. What a pathetic excuse. I also told him about how horrible the my ceiling looked and he apologized and told me that the last manager told him that it was fixed. He told me to put another work order in. A week later it says on the online portal that it was repaired. So I put another work order in again, then I see that it was changed to repaired, AGAIN. NO INTEGRITY. Then that manager quit too. No two week notice or nothing. That should tell you something. Btw, in the lease it says that if you didn't put in a work order the issue pretty much doesn't exist to them. So when I called for emergerency maintenence(the first time my roof went bad)I'm thinking I didn't have to put in a work order at that point. They came and they physically saw the issue. Wrong. They're gonna play dumb and act like the issue never occured. Who ever owns Charing Cross, you should be ashamed. You don't maintain, you just do enough to get by. Thats it. Then you have the nerve to raise rent but haven't thought about repairing issues for current tenants. There was no manager present for my final walk through of the place and the office was closed 5 days out of the week. They like to hire sweet talkers but don't be fooled. As soon as you sign that lease, they could care less about you."

"I moved to Charring Cross 4 years ago and prior to renting here I never stayed at one place for more than one year due to noise or other issues that made me feel uncomfortable. If you need a quiet place to stay with friendly management and maintenance I'd definitely go with Charring Cross. It's a very peaceful place with thick walls and pets allowed. There is always extra parking(I don't drive), and you don't have to ever feel shy about asking for help from Martin or prior to Martin, Anne. There isn't really anything else I'd want out of a place to live by myself."

I am a professor at BGSU and often recommend this amazing complex to students seeking a quiet, affordable, and well-kept place to call home."
